750ml bottle pours a very dark amber with some spitty white head. Nose is mostly tart, lots of grapefruit pith and pulp, some medicine, funk, a little worm wood. Flavor is very tart, not just grapefruit and kumquat tart, but medicinal, lactic, some light candy, a flick of grain. Full, tart finish. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Bottle: Deep amber, reddish hue, thin frothy off-white head, spotty lacing. I am not so sure what Kumquats smell like, but what I get is a sweet and strong cloud, crow, or lingonberry type aroma. Sweet and tart it smells, and boy does it taste sweet and tart. Fairly dry, puckering too. Faint woodiness, oak. Reminds me of scandinavian preserves, of the low shrubby variety. Great on toast. Not out of this earth brightness, but sweet, tart, and dry. Respectable beer!   Thanks Rob! 50belair (3670) - Florida, USA - NOV 26, 2013
Bottle. Clear burnt orange pour with an off white head. Kumquat aromas. Sour and tart with kumquat, lemon, and citrus highlights. Decent body and mouthfeel. jbruner (5008) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - NOV 11, 2013
Pours a hazy copper gold from the bottle with thin lacy off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma is sweet caramel and citrus up front, then a nice lactic sour ending. Taste is super sour and funky, hint of tannic wood makes by sweet citrus. Pretty darn good. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 7, 2013
Pours orange with a golden hue and creamy beige head. Aroma brings sweet citrus unique flavors, definitely the kumquats with super subtle funk and tang. Flavor brings tangy citrus fruit with a big tart body that makes the mouth pucker with linings of tropical fruit so pleasant on the palate.

750ml bottle courtesy of Madbeerbaron. Murky unfiltered deep copper red-orange. Intense boozed out island tones. Juicy, really just shows off the Kumquat more and more. Out there on the fringe, interesting sour experiment. Would’ve scored more but lacks finesse. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Beer No. 50 from The Bruery. Red-orange pour with a white head. This is definitely a delicious sour. Up front I get a lot of funk and tropical fruits, including pineapple and mango (and presumably kumquats), as well as some leather, biscuit malt and rye. Puckering, but still very easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I got to try this one. Marheb (5902) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Bottle @ Matt’s house from our Reserve Society membership. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a thin tan head. Pineapple, fruit cocktail, passion fruit, vanilla, mild cherry aroma. Tangy, big lemon, lime, passion fruit, guava, funky fruity flavor that finishes pretty tart. Pretty tasty beer. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma has big vanilla, white fruit with peach, pear, slight funk, nice fruity notes, touch of earth. Taste is a mix of big fruit, white fruit, funky fruit, nice earth, hints of grass, nice sweet fruits, fnishing fairly bitter, dry. slightly sweet. So good.
