COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sourrento is a sour ale that was inspired by the lemon flavored spirt, Limoncello which hails from the city of Sorrento, Italy. To create this unique, sweetly sour flavor, we aged our sour blonde ale with both lemon zest and fresh vanilla beans. The resulting beer is somewhere between a classic sour ale, a delightful Italian apertif, and a lemon meringue pie.

Bottle courtesy of GenDV138, thank you! Cloudy golden yellow color, white head. Aroma of freshly baked pie crust. Taste has softly sour lemon tarts or biscuits. Interesting. Nothing like limoncello, but tasty anyway.

Lightly hazy gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Sour lemon. never acid, sour orange. Homemade lemonade. Nice vanilla sweetness on the back end and it tempers the sourness. Dry finish. Simple stuff but it works very well, the vanilla really keeps it drinkable.

Bottle, 75cl. 2016 edition, 6.1%, shared by meilby. It pours a hazy golden body under a small, white head. The aroma is lightly sourish, mostly fruity, with some cellar hints, a touch of funk and vanilla and a soapy hint. Lots of lemon zest and juice. It’s medium to full-bodied, tart and acidic, with lots of lemony flavors and some funky, vanilla-ish flavors. Some vinegar hints, especially towards the finish. Sure nice, but perhaps a bit much on many aspects. Perhaps a beer to enjoy with a cheese cake, or an apple cake with vanilla ice. 170311
