24 sept 2014, tap at the Bruery. Brown. Nose is sour with some vanilla notes. Thin body and moderately fuzzy. Tart with lots of vanilla candle flavor. Really tart and cherries dominate but vanilla is there up front and lingers delicately. Interesting. Vanilla isn't a flavor I would mix with a sour normally. Dark black pour, light reddish head... Aroma of tart cherries, vanilla candy, light roasted malt... Flavor is sour puckering lemon, light roast, nice notes of cherries and vanilla throughout... Delicious, hard to believe that this is actually better than the original

Black pour, light tan head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is vanilla, sour cherry, barnyard action, chocolate. Medium bodied, not nearly as tart as the normal tart of darkness with a lot more sweetness but not quite overly so. Yummy. jredmond (8508) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 15, 2014
Draft at Ginger Man with Connor and Chris. First beer of the night during the Bruery tap takeover event. Pours a deep brown, nearly black body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is sweet tart cherries, rich oak and bourbon. The nose is reminiscent of Lost Abbey’s Cuvée de Tomme - a rich cherry character coupled with a luscious bourbon/molasses flavor. Mouthfeel is rich and super tart on the back end. Mouth puckering tart cherry flavor dominates the bourbon, molasses and melted caramel character. Draft. Black pour with tan head. Vanilla, cherry and chocolate aromas. Tart cherry and chocolate flavors, some sweet vanilla.
