COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tart of Darkness is a traditional stout that we aged in used oak barrels from The Bruery that had previously housed beers such as Cuivre™ or Black Tuesday®. We then brought them over to Bruery Terreux, added our special blend of souring bacterias and wild yeasts and watched nature take its course. The result is a perfectly tart yet awesomely dark and roasty, sour stout. Not a style you will see very often, and in our opinion, not a style seen often enough. This unique stout has notes of tart plums, roasted coffee, vanilla and oak.

AirForceHops (7908) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 9, 2017
750 ml bottle, near black appearance, no head. Aroma of light vinegar, cherries skins, plum skins. Flavor is plums, sour cherry, mild oak vinegar, acidic aftertaste. Really nearly too much vinegar for my palate. I guess it is good for what it is. Depends on what you enjoy.

Chalumeaux (1761) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 9, 2017
Poured from bottle thanks Airforcehops dark cherry with no head and nice lacing. Aromas of light funk tart berry light oak. Taste is tart fruit grapeskin oak and tannins.

2.6
Luvystypotables (2080) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2017
Poured from a bottle, a cloudy dark brown color with a nose of brettanomyces, a bit of disappointment neither a good stout nor a good sour, light body with a tart nondescript taste and a brettanomyces finish.

3.7
beer-yum (1906) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 28, 2017
Restrained aroma in a thin black pour. Tart taste is a little one dimensional to start but builds to a complex and subtle beer that is eminently enjoyable in the end. Another winner from the Bruery.

furthur (1242) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - JUL 23, 2017
2015 bottle, very dark brown beer, almond colored head. Aroma is toasted batley and goat. Taste is vineagar, hydrochloric acid, lemon juice, lime juice. There’s no malt left now, just acid. Palate is medium, carbonation average.

LCI. Van de tap @TheBruery. Prachtige zure stout, aroma van hout en fruit, smaken van hout en rood fruit en een prettig zuurtje!

3.5
bursprak (3285) - Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2017
Sample from bottle. Blackish pour with (maybe) some head. Notes of light roast, heavy tartness, some cranberries, light bitter chocolate and a light bitterness.
