The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.
2015 Release = 16.6% ABV. ABV varies by vintage.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2017 Bottle at tasting. Golden pour. Aroma has sweet white chocolate, vanilla, red fruit, bourbon booze and wheat. Flavor of red fruit, white chocolate, oak, booze, bourbon vanilla, caramel and a sweet vanilla bourbon finish. Very good and really unique, never had anything like this.

Slightly hazy bright copper with a thin ivory foam cap. Brisk sugary white chocolate nose with a kiss of raisin and loads of vanilla. Big boozy flavor that’s rummy/raisin-ish with lots of herbal vanilla and chocolate cake tones. Boozy warm finish a raisin whisper at the end with a bit more white chocolaty vanilla. Incredible.

Pours a murky orange brown with an off white head. Nose has white chocolate. Light bourbon, caramel malt, sweet dades and stuff. Taste is sweet with malty, boozy, chocolate flavours. Fouthferl is full and the afrtertaste is lingering and savoury. Fun stuff

Petarda.

It is complicated to rate this beer. I admire the craftsmanship. But there is more almonds in the taste, rather than chocolate. For a barrel aged beer I did not feel the vanilla. Alcohol is way to dominant. Maybe I am to harsh because I do not like marzipan.

Kapsel (418) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAY 28, 2017
Wanilia, marcepan, lekki kokos, biała czekolada w posmaku, jak dla mnie dobrze ukryte alko, piękne piwo.

Draft. Aroma of alcohol, lots of golden raisins and white wine. Flavor of white wine, especially as the beer warms, and some white chocolate (!), but not really much beyond. No hint of bourbon or barrel-aging. Good for what it is, but not a lot of layers or depth.

Ktwse (5464) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2017
Pours hazy copper amber with low off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate and vanilla, very sweet nose and a bit of a mindfuck. Taste is sweet, caramel, toffee and booze. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation.

More vanilla than chocolate which does indeed give it a "white chocolate" vibe which IMO is not really a positive. More cacao nibs, please! Other than that, it’s rich and smooth and much more complex than real white chocolate.

Ahuth (665) - Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2017
Draft. Pours golden cloudy. The taste is bourbon and some vanilla. Not much of a "chocolate " taste.
