COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.
2012 vintage - 11.5% abv

Dry white wine. Tart Cherries. Tropical fruit. Pours a murky mango orange with a thick foamy bright white head. Lots of suds left on the glass. Dry white wine. Fair amount of esters. Tart fruit. Velvety mouthfeel.

Should be listed as a wheatwine.which is a wheaty barley wine. 2016 vintage, from Bottle King. Aroma: Light pepper notes, slight alcohol, sugar (caramel,) light coconut, some vanilla, wheat. reminds me a bit of some whiskeys Appearance: cloudy golden orange color with a tall head, white in color. Taste: Caramel/coconut sweetness with some peppery undertone. Slight fruitiness as well. Slight heat from the alcohol. Palate: A bit too alcoholic for the percentage. Wouldn’t call it this balanced. Overall: Flavors are solid but I find the balance in terms of alcohol flavor/palate. I found the aroma to be slightly better than the taste also.

Clear golden, minimal white head. Sweet fruity grape, raisins. A bit of oak. Honey. No bitterness, very sweet, hint of funk. Medium body, slightly oily. Long finish. Reasonably hot alcohol. Pretty great. Rated when the Cubs won the World Series.

Aromat jest intensywny, słodki. Nuty zapachowe w głównej mierze tworzą tutaj suszone owoce: figi, daktyle, morele i odrobina karmelu.

Slightly murky golden with a sticky white head. Biiiig nose of oak, maple, very earthy leafiness, and a certain dark Belgian malty booziness. Smooth body with a large boozy Barleywine tone that’s malty, slightly fruity, loads of smooth dark oak, white grape, light citrus, more wood, and a somewhat smooth but boozy finish. Really pleasant. Rating number 7400!

Bottle, bought @Mikkeller Webshop. Pours light hazy amber with a small, fizzy White film head. Aroma has lots of oak, heavy sweetness, Vanilla, sticky malts and a bit of wet dog. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very sweet, lots of Bourbon character, vinious, oak, chewy malts. A slight burning alcohol sensation in the end. Unimpressive.

750 ml bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served at cellar temp in a Maudite glass. Light-to-medium cloudy amber-gold - not exactly what I usually expect in this style- topped by quite a large smooth snowy head that decays slowly...nose initially citric and acidic, strongly yeasty (sourdough and cookie dough), more reminiscent of a sour ale or perhaps a saison (as acerbic herbal tones of thyme and oregano show up) than anything else; with a few minutes time in the glass, a more typical vinous and caramel-malt characteristic makes itself known, along with expected banana notes...body is also fairly acidic, lightly tart, moderately to strongly sweet with a strong yeasty character throughout; alcohol is present but never overwhelming...finish is peppery and a bit drier, slightly woody/toasty...body is full, heavily carbonated. This is pretty decent though it’s not the kind of thing I want often, and the 750 ml bottle is a negative as far as I’m concerned - good for a group but not for solo drinking; this level of tartness plus high alcohol is a challenge.
