COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

thewolf (12631) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 5, 2016
Bottle, bought @Mikkeller Webshop. Pours light hazy amber with a small, fizzy White film head. Aroma has lots of oak, heavy sweetness, Vanilla, sticky malts and a bit of wet dog. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very sweet, lots of Bourbon character, vinious, oak, chewy malts. A slight burning alcohol sensation in the end. Unimpressive.

muzzlehatch (4963) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 4, 2016
750 ml bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served at cellar temp in a Maudite glass. Light-to-medium cloudy amber-gold - not exactly what I usually expect in this style- topped by quite a large smooth snowy head that decays slowly...nose initially citric and acidic, strongly yeasty (sourdough and cookie dough), more reminiscent of a sour ale or perhaps a saison (as acerbic herbal tones of thyme and oregano show up) than anything else; with a few minutes time in the glass, a more typical vinous and caramel-malt characteristic makes itself known, along with expected banana notes...body is also fairly acidic, lightly tart, moderately to strongly sweet with a strong yeasty character throughout; alcohol is present but never overwhelming...finish is peppery and a bit drier, slightly woody/toasty...body is full, heavily carbonated. This is pretty decent though it’s not the kind of thing I want often, and the 750 ml bottle is a negative as far as I’m concerned - good for a group but not for solo drinking; this level of tartness plus high alcohol is a challenge.

750ml bottle from Saveur-Biere. Oravankolo tasting.

Orange colour with a small white head. Bourbon, overdone fruits, good palate.

ciocanelu (2601) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - SEP 3, 2016
Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma has bourbon but it’s well integrated with the sweet malt and floral notes. Taste starts with malt sweetness, bourbon and continues with floral notes. Quite good but a bit boozy for my taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark orangish color. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruitiness, biscuit, and bourbon. Alcohol is dangerously masked.

Idiosynkrasie (7622) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 24, 2016
750ml bottle. Clear cognac colour, with small, forthy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Woody, oaky aroma, hints of vanilla, a nuttily touch, hazelnut, nougat, some coconut as well. Taste is all along this line, good balance of rather subtle flavours, a slight predominance of oak.
