COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Evan Kleiman, host of KCRWs Good Food, was inspired to collaborate with Patrick Rue andThe Bruery after enjoying a homemade Rhubarb Raspberry Pie. The rhubarbs fruity sourness tempered with the sweetness of the fresh raspberries and the wheat crust, begged to be bottled up in the form of a bubbly beer. Keeping the original pie recipe in mind, specialty grains were chosen to mimic the crust, and rhubarb and raspberries were used in varying stages of the brewing and fermentation process. The resulting beer is reminiscent of a fresh country pie, cooling on a farmhouse windowsill.

One of the few Bruery sours that sets itself apart. The differentiating quality is that the fruit comes through strong even though the tartness is dialed up. Nice clean finish.

(Bottled August 15, 2013) Bomber to tulip. Pours a dark, leathery red with a thin, light brown head. Aroma is acidic, with faint berry notes and a tart, lemony finish. Taste is sour, acidic, with lemon, berry, and tart rhubarb. For some reason this beer feels strangely chalk to me.

Bottle. Murky reddish brown pour with almost no head. Great aroma. Raspberry and rhubarb pie filling, light brett, light oak, and red wine vinegar. Taste is moderately sour. Pretty intense stuff. Lots of vinegar, acid, berries, rhubarb, and red wine. Very solid but it might be hard to finish a full glass.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2015 Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Mahogany hazy pour with a quick fading beige head. Gone in moments. Aroma of red apple, raspberry, strawberry, & some mild lemon acidity. Flavor has notes of cherry skin, apple, strawberry, a hint of cherry, & some faint acidic lemon in the back-end. A touch of woody, tannic vinousness to finish things off. Acidity grows with time. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 10/08/2014 Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell. Thanks to Ken. Bright orange / light amber coloured pour with a small head. Aroma is tart fruit, apricot, funky brett. Flavour is really tart, sharp puckering acid. Pretty clean lemon and citric acid. Palate is sharp crisp acid. Lingering tart fruits and funk.

Bottle... Murky caramel-colored pour with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Good retention. The bouquet is fruity and crusty with light splashes of sour red wine vinegar and pungent, cherry-scented nail polish remover. Medium to full-bodied with stinging carbonation. The flavor is both sour and pungent. This would probably taste a good bit like acetone if I were stupid enough to sample acetone. Finishes abrasive, sour and tongue numbing. Bad.

Le ct surette des framboises sert de tremplin pour une longueur en bouche prolong par des sucres bagarreurs. La rhubarbe pateauge aussi dans la mixture et cest une bndiction pour sa complexit.
