American Pale Ales hold a special place in the Halls o’ Beerdom. Immigrant brewers definitely broke with some Old World traditions, but after so many generations, APA has become a tradition unto itself. Strong, smooth and elegantly simple, featuring pale malt, a dash of caramel, and pungent New World hops. Crisp grain sweetness balanced by fruity hops. Freshly-baked whole wheat bread, tall grass, wild flowers, ruby red grapefruit, black currant, cantaloupe. Enjoy our uniquely nuanced patriotic ale. Place your hand over your heart and recite: MY PINT TIS OF THEE! GREAT MALT OF LIBERTY! OF THEE I DRINK!

Growler to a pint glass. Appears burnt amber in color and little head that is fairly characteristic for the brewer. Apricot aroma seems to naturally come about, and flavor is mild compared to most APAs. Overall, it is very drinkable, and the subdued bitterness is easy on the palate. Session APA!

Pour is a hazy amber with a large white head. Aroma is a decent pine hop with some caramel malt. Flavor is more of a dry malt with a decent pine and fruity hop. The caramel malt in there but not in a chewy kind of way, it’s just there to give this some body and the beer is quite thick by today’s APA standards. They were going for the old school pale ale’s from craft beers infancy with this one. It would have been ground breaking back in 1994 and it’s still good today.

Orange and cloudy. Poured at their brewery. White head. Apricot and citrus with and little vanilla hints. Really good

A solid, if unspectacular pale ale. Nice to look at, copper with creamy head, and nice on the nose, although nothing really stood out. Great taste and mouthfeel, but reminiscent of late-90's pale ales - I would have been happy to get this at a restaurant with limited options, but was underwhelmed by it in a taproom with 20 other options. Regret is an ugly mistress. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark copper. Thin lacing. Grapefruit. Big body. If I were still on a hop kick I’d be in heaven.

Poursa dark hazy orange with an off white head. Aroma is slightly citrus. Medium mouth feel with aggressive carbonation. Taste is bitter on the tongue at first but ends smooth with a bit of citrus and hoppy bitterness that just disappears. Pretty good pale ale.

Hazy orange pour with a white head. The aroma is mostly citrus with some mild grass. It has a medium body with smooth texture and lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with an easy finish.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a white head. Taste Carmel, biscuit, pine. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
