We wanted to brew something really unique for our foodie fusion friends at Dressels. If you like our German wheat beer and you like the new trend toward Session IPAs, you’re gonna love Dressels Hoppy Wheat. We added new layers of complexity to a traditional weizenbier grainbill and dry-hopped with zesty American and German varieties. You’ll recognize the typical banana, clove, and black pepper notes, but take another sip and check-out those subtle grassy, apricot, strawberry, cantaloupe, sweet citrus, and tropical fruit notes. Bright acidity, silky mouthfeel, crisp dry finish. Pairs well with…well, anything Ben, Mike, and Derek cook up! Cheers!

Keg at the brewery, 12/17/16. Hazy yellow, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of lemon and pale malt. The taste is bright lemon and wheat. Medium bodied, crisp.

Draft during RBSG. From notes. Tart lemon and earthy and floral hops dominate. Bready malt.

thegreenrooster (4558) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 16, 2014
Pour is a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is lemon citrus with some wheat malt and a small hop. Flavor is a nice citrus hop with a real refreshing lemon with a almost pear like aftertaste. Pretty nice beer and by far Civil Life’s hoppiest beer.

gregwilsonstl (2661) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 12, 2014
On draft at brewery. Lots of lemon and general tartness. Pepper. Not anything that I expected based on name. Probably would have rated much higher with a different name. Cloudy

arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 28, 2014
Pour on tap at the brewery, very hazy yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grass, vanilla, honey, hints of peach, pear, apricot, nice big hit of orange and orange peel, very citrusy with a hint of spice. Taste is a mix of clove, grass, bread into nice orange, white fruit with peach, some pineapple with a hint of honey, bready notes, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry. Nicely done.

Draft at the brewery. I missed this one during the RBSG bus tour. Won’t be denied this time around! Or forget to try it, more accurately. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Notes of lemon, wheat, apricot, pear, banana, grass, and hay. Surprisingly fruity, with an underlying sweetness and tartness. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a wheaty, fruity mouthfeel that finishes dry. Really nice hoppy wheat.

decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Hazed yellow pour with creamy white head and lace. Sweet wheat malt with floral hops on the nose. Flavor is sweet wheat with a combination of flat wheat bitter and floral hops. Medium bodied with good carbonation ok by me

hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Draft... RBSG 2014... Pours hazy and deep yellow with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Grainy, spicy, fruity nose - banana ester, clove phenol, floral and grassy hops. Light-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is grainy, fruity and spicy with a floral, grassy, lightly bitter finish.

vyvvy (6731) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Sampled at the brewpub on the 2014 RBSG bus tour - Pours cloudy golden orange with a white head. The aroma has sweet citrus, light spice, mild candy and very smooth rich wheat. It has a medium body with light carbonation. The flavor begins with spice, smooth citrus, smooth wheat and a bit of creaminess. The finish has more spice and pepper. Really enjoyable summer beer.
