Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of tart notes with solid dry Belgian style malt backbone and light dry hops notes are also noticeable. Taste is a complex mix of tart and funky yeasty notes with solid bready malt backbone with a long finale. Body is full with good carbonation. Easy drinking with quite a bit of complexity. Balance is also pretty good with not much acidity. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAY 6, 2015
Bottle: Semi-orange & amber body with a darker brown hue in the center. Slightly hazy, stark-white head on top, reduces swiftly. Aroma is largely cherry skins & brettanomyces. Huge funky & sweaty old pineapple, mildew, woody oak tannins, cotton funk, acidic cherry skin. A hint of spice, too, almost like cinnamon. Flavor isn’t as sour as the aroma. It’s actually quite boozy. Heavy bourbon & oak with a boozy vinous finish. Brett maintains its tenacity, too. Lots of sweat & horsey funk, oak, cotton, cherry, a touch of peach. More sweet than sour or tart. Still, that heavy bourbon wafts from front to back. It’s just too much at times. Simply decent, but it could be great if the booze was toned down a lot. jbruner (4857) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 7, 2015
Bottle at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a hazy golden orange with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma and taste are nice light brett funk with a hint of sour acidity over pale malt and sweetness. Smooth and easy, nicely done. j12601 (12698) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 17, 2015
Bottle at James’ for a tasting with Ferris and Kraddel. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft musk and toast, floral and lightly herbal. Musk and a bit of tartness. Sweet and funky, fruit and musk. vyvvy (6523) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 15, 2015
Pours hazy orange / amber with a white head. The aroma has lots of sweet tarts, cherries, berries and mild tartness. It has a medium / light body that is lightly rough and has lots of minor semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts off with buggy earthy brett, heavy blackberries and mild malt in the back. The finish is very berry with brett and pepper. Nice approachable wild ale.
