3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewery Lightly hazed gold with a short white head. Lightly herbal aroma with some subtle dried orange peel and biscuit / cracker pale malt expression. Low sweetness, light herbaceousness (I don’t pull sage or tarragon out of it, actually, but there is a general "herb" flavor, albeit quiet). Sourish grains as it opens (but not acidic) with touches of milk / sour cream and moderately strong bitterness later (from hops or herbs or both?). Pasty, chalky and silty yeast which is something that I find in the Commons yeast across a number of their beers.
Draft at brewery, Portland. Pours a medium golden orange, with little head. Aroma is sharp, tangy and a bit of herbal funk; robust yet crisp. Body is huge, very lively, finish displays a lingering herbal Bitterness with some medicinal notes.
