Taster at Saraveza’s Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival. Funky yeast notes in the aroma. Almost a lactic sourness in the flavor, with pitted fruit notes. Finishes with a clean sour tickle.
170517. On tap at The Catfish in Fitzroy. This is my first beer from this brewery and I had this as part of an Portland brewery tap takeover during Good Beer Week. Very good sour ale with plenty of funky tartness up front and it carries all the way to the finish. Light in colour with a small head that quickly vanishes. Sour fruit aroma with a touch of vinegar thrown in for good measure – surprisingly smells pretty good. Thin in the mouth which I what I was expecting. Pours golden with a slight haze and sudsy white head. Light farmhouse and hay aroma. Light bodied, highly carbonated, light tart funk lemony character.

Draft at the brewery. Yellow/ orange body, faint ring of head. Savoryy, floral aroma, sage, rosemary., Some citrus. Taste is light and tart, tangerines and hibiscus. Not a fan of the style, but this is exceptional.

Portrait: Un liquide jaune doré. Un nez et une bouche à la levure saison. C’est classique comme produit. Passablement sec et facile à boire. J’aime.

Bottle (750 ml), shared. Clear bright golden with a small white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is mostly of cardboard, lactic presence and raisins with some floral/perfumy notes. Taste is moderately tart and lactic with carboard, raisins, floral notes and mild spiciness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Raisins finish. Weird mix of oxydation and lactic presence.
