Amber pour with a fizzy offwhite head. Aroma is toasted caramel malts and some light grassiness. mouthfeel is light and a bit creamy. Flavor is nice deep caramel malt and some grassy hopping with a touch of biscuit. Nice, relatively crisp finish with a flutter of sweetness. Nice

Date: 1/22/2011 Source:Other A bit to the high end of the style and tasty. Grainy earthy with a bit of nuttiness in aroma. Clear dark golden with a ring of white head. Flavor follows aroma. Medium body and mouth feel. Finish is dry, nutty, earthy.

The aroma is weak, although I can whiff some bread and other malts. It is amber in color with a weak head. The bread and caramel taste is decent, but a bit more carbonation flavor is present than I would like.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2010 A surprise gift from Matt (Mr. FActo) Thanks! Bottle. Biscuit and lightly toasted grain malt fields greet your nose on tho pretty clear amber brew. The flavor is quite a grainy malt with a bit of grassyness. A bit earthy (or is that bready) and a touch sweet. Med body and a bit of a heavier mouth feel than expected. Drinkable.

Enjoyable. Attractive amber-red although my draft lacked much head at all, which may have also muted the slightly bready and malty aroma. Some surprising up front malt sweetness quickly gives way to a well balanced, very drinkable quaffer with decent body. With a little head on it this would be very good.

Had this back at the Oktoberfest in CLT, but I’m rating it from a bottle now. A little bit sweet and heavy for me. Flavor was certainly there, but it was kind of stuffy, and didn’t have the smooth crispness that makes me love this style (formerly my arch nemesis style).

Good example of marzen, just not my style. It pours clean and finishes crisp, it;s all malt. Better than most American marzen, not as good as the best Germans
