I’ve had this one before, but never on tap. I went with my wife to the Hard Times Cafe in Woodbridge, VA and this was the last beer of my session:
Ap: Pours almost totally black, with slight hints of light shining through as the session progressed. It had about 1/6 inch of head and the carbonation was undetectable, due to the dark color of the beverage.
Ar: Roasted grains and coffee, but definitely not Maxwell House...something more gourmet.
T: Great balance. The detectable lactose smooths out the coffee, adding sweetness, body, and thick texture. I tasted this right after the pour in which the beer may be colder than craft beer drinkers like it to be. This stout (and milk stouts in general) actually taste good that way - sort like a milkshake.
P: I already mentioned thick texture, but perhaps a better word would be creamy.
O: If I’m really in the mood for stouts and this one is available, I could drink this all day. This is the best beer in Duck Rabbit’s standard lineup.
Bottle from Harris Teeter, Hampstead, North Carolina. Dark reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. Has a sweet nose, with a mildly sweet dark malt taste rather than any stated roasted malts. Nsanders (1136) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - APR 23, 2017
Bottle. Black with a huge tan head, delaying pour. Creamer, milk chocolate, vanilla wafers and slight earthy aromas. Has a subtle chocolate milk flavor that is less sweet. Heavier body with a smooth feel. MBlessing (1295) - Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 7, 2017

Poured with little carbonation. Sweet aroma. Taste of mocha with a bit less sweetness. Thicker on the tongue but not heavy.wwll balanced. Sweet and bitter blend extremely. I usually only do stouts in winter but this has year round drinkabiliry due to its light yet complex flavors. jc1762 (1385) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 15, 2016
Bottle poured into a pilsner showing pitch black with coffee black rims and very sparse latte colored foam.
The nose shows a lactose sweet note throughout on top of a bed of roasted malts.
The palate is light bodied with light carbonation. Immediate subtle lactose sweetness appears but closer to a soybean-like sweetness. Barely any bitterness. A bit thin on flavor all around and a very simple milk stout.

Pours a dark brown color with khaki colored head. Baking cocoa powder, caramel malt, and some sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with a cocoa sweetness. dliberto (217) - Hampstead, Maryland, USA - SEP 25, 2016
Poured from bottle into pint glass. Pours a jet black color with a small dark beige foam head. Aroma consists of chocolate, nuts, coffee, and licorice. Taste is semi-sweet with milk chocolate dominating the tongue. Body is full and the mouthfeel is creamy. Nice beer. arn8897 (389) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2016
Pours a deep brown to black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, and some coffee. Taste the same with a little smoke and lactose sweetness. Very complex ale. Light to medium mouth feel. Very nice beer. Barreras (1687) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - SEP 6, 2016
