3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2011 Bottle.Poured a nice rich black in color with a small medium brown creamy head that was mostly lasting and produced some good lacing.
The aroma was of a strong dose of roasted grain malts and a moderate sweet doughy yeast with notes of molasses, chocolate and coffee.
It tasted slightly sweet and rather malty with a hint of chocolate initially and the became a mildly bitter-sweet with a coffee-molasses flavor at the finish that left the flavor hanging around on the taste buds for a decent amount of time.
Mouthfeel was full in body and smooth & creamy in texture with a flat carbonation.
Overall this stout is superb, one of the best I have tasted up to this point. It is very easy to drink and will leave you wanting another.
Bottle from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Aroma is chocolate, cocoa. Taste is mild unsweetened cocoa soda, dry roasted malt soda. My first Duck-Rabbit so I was probably expecting more (even though this is a Sweet / Milk Stout). NikkTwist (3307) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 20, 2017

From 12 ounce bottle bought as part of a mix 6 pack from Ingles Supermarket in Lake Lure, North Carolina, tasted on July 26, 2017. Very dark brown/amber color, intense aroma of roasted malt/licorice/lactose/coffee/a bit of chocolate, good roasted malt/coffee/lactose flavor that’s not as big as the nose advertised but still quite decent.
