From a growler served in a shaker glass. Very dark brown with a thin khaki head. Smells of dark fruits, tobacco, and bread. The flavor is similar with a touch of toffee. Medium-low carbonation with a slightly astringent texture. Very nice porter that differs from the norm.
Good porter, if a tad thin. Pours a solid dark brown-black, and the nose gives up coffee and chocolate like a good porter should. Taste is right in line, coffee acidity mingling with bitter cocoa and a mild cherry-raisin tartness. Never grows sweet, which is nice, and the fade stays dry, mild hop bitterness accentuating the mocha finish. Feel isn’t great, but we can deal with it. Pours a dark brown with no head given the way WOB poured it. Dry, smoky, roasted malt nose. Some smoky beef in the flavor. Slight fruitiness. obxdude10 (2324) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Not a bad porter but a little thin on flavor. I had a pint of this on cask at World of Beer in Exton. The beer poured a black color with a soft brown head. I tasted some chocolate and roasted malt, but that was about it. OnTheTrail (491) - Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2016
Pours dark brown, good sized light brown head. Strong cocoa aroma, some cola. Slightly sweet, roast malt, cocoa flavor. Some oats. Smooth mouthfeel. Scotty001 (563) - Portlethen, SCOTLAND - NOV 20, 2016
Ruby red to brown in colour with a large brown head that quickly diminishes. Slight aroma of chocolate malt and a trace of coffee. Medium bodied with no real carbonation. Taste of coffee and minor notes of chocolate. Quite smooth with very little aftertaste. Disappointing.

Bottle at Flying Saucer, Nashville, TN, 4.5.16. Black. Roasty aroma with lots of cocoa and vanilla bean. Bitter, roasty, then a little sweet and some vanilla in the mouth. Medium body, chocolate and slightly roasty finish, carbonated. tillmac62 (726) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - JUN 15, 2016
BBD not notched. Pours black. Below normal head volume, very poor lacing and poor retention of what little head there was.
Very good nose of dark chocolate, light roast, caramel notes and light molasses.
Slightly above light body, but not heavy light. The texture is smooth. World class carbonation / body balance. Effervescence begins with a nice mid palate burst and culminates in a finely bubbled prickly finish.
The flavor profile is good, but lacks the complexity to achieve very good. It begins with light roast then adds a bit of char. The middle has almost no bitterness. What there is char based. Just enough sweetness arrives to make the bitter chocolate noticeable. The finish is a slow fade of light bitter chocolate and char. wombat23 (1362) - Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2016
Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with chocolate notes. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee notes. Has some nuttiness. Creamy texture. Good. darbeer75 (887) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - APR 19, 2016
Aroma: chocolate and coffee with some booze; Appearance: pitch black with billowy tan head that dissipates slowly; some lacing; Taste: malty with lots of chocolate and coffee; some booze; Palate: heavy bodied with medium finish; Overall: Very nice porter; would buy again if in the mood for a porter. airrick2003 (872) - Louisiana, USA - OCT 12, 2015
Appearance: this beer pours with a tiny tan head, the beer is a deep black opaque color with the tiniest bit of deep maroon hues on the colors
Aroma: chocolate, kind of faint, smoke
Taste: chocolate, moderate sweetness, some coffee bitterness,
Palate: medium mouthfeel, coffee aftertaste, average carbonation
Overall: a bit chocolate heavy for my taste, but still not bad, a decent porter that's not very sweet
