COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Duck-Rabbit’s Scotch Ale is a full-bodied, deep copper-colored treasure. Bold and malty, this beer’s sweetness comes from a massive quantity of grain complemented by some serious kettle carmelization. The flavor is rounded out by a warming alcohol sensation.

This beer is interesting in how strong a flavor it has based on the water and hops. I am fond of Ruck-Rabbit and love their more common styles, however, this beer has a slight, hmmmm, oyster taste to it. I know the water around that area and this might be an effect, but it was quite a shock to taste. VERY pronounced dry hop presence with a moderate malt balance. Quite heavy as the style suggests and is not one to be consumed at once. Savor this one but be aware that you might taste some interesting flavors.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 A fantastic example of the style. Strong scottish yeast dominates the profile, along with a perfect balance from caramal malts, with a nice alcoholic warmths. 2017 advent calendar

355 ml bottle poured at home. Day 13 of the craft beer advent calendar. Pours copper without a head. Smells like caramel, chocolate and a touch of alcohol. Tastes heavily of caramel with an alcohol kick at the end. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml brown bottle. Amber, a little unclear. Thin ring of white head. Aroma has caramel, vanilla and a little chocolate. Taste has caramel and toffee, some dark bready notes and some warming alcohol. Lots of strong flavours, good stuff.

Aroma of calvados, scotch, toasted malts and caramel. You can smell the burn. Taste is orange, scotch, sweet malt, chocolate, vanilla, and dark fruits. Tasty.

Bottle, beer advent calendar. Clear tawny amber with a light golden head. Toffee and marzipan, quite sweet, with an intrusive alcoholic finish that swings a bigger bat than 8%. Waaaayyy to boozy for me to find enjoyable. I don't mind a boozy brew, but I prefer more body and complexity to balance things out.

Clean amber color. Candy caramel aroma. Caramel flavor, moderately sweet, moderate depth of malts, some burnt sugar in the final roasted nuts.
Clean, quite good.

355 bottle @ Matt's. Pours a clear dark copper amber colour with a thin beige head. Nose is caramel and light bready malt. Flavour is bready malt, a light amount of caramel and toffee, and it finishes with a alcohol roughness. It's ok.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, bready malt, and a touch of brown sugar. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, caramel and light brown sugar. Finishes on notes of toffee, with moderate sweetness. Very light on the palate despite all this. Nice stuff.

Bottle - Lots of sticky toffee with a hint of cooked orange, clear copper with a small off white head. Sweet toffee, light marzipan and some orange. Rich and quite nice, although a touch on the sweet side.
