Sampled from tap at the brewpub. Clear, brownish amber with a beige head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, some chocolate and a bit of nuts. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, nuts and some chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

(The Fiddler Howling Wolf (2013-)) Cask at The Fiddler, half pint. Deep mahogany brown colour on the body, good sized beige head on top, thick and with good retention too. Aroma has caramel, toffee, light red fruits. Taste also of caramel, light nuts, some sour notes, grains. Medium thin body, good carabonation. Not bad.

Cask taster @ The Fiddler Brewpub. Part of their Beer Flight. Shot glass sized. Only one of the 7 beers that I had by them that I would describe as decent, enjoyable even. Darker brown orange with zero head. Nose is orange, light bitter orange peel hop,… Bitter / sweet orange peel taste, orange, rind, sweetish, light sugar, touch watery, light caramel,… Sugary & tad watery body. Not really what I would expect from a Dunkler Bock (I didn’t pick it out as such) but this actually drinks okay.

2.9
BeerandBlues2 (13306) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 31, 2015
Tap at the brewery. Pours clear copper with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt with dates, light earthy hops and light caramel notes. Flavor is sweet malt, light earthy hops and bitterness, light peppery alcohol and dates with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.
