Part of our educational series in which you can learn alongside our brewers what different & exciting fresh hops they are using. A single hop pale ale showcasing the American hop Palisade. Grown in the ‘hop belt’ of America’s Northwest by Select Botanicals Group, Palisade is an aroma hop known for its high yield and its unique aroma profile. The higher myrcene levels found in Palisade are what contribute to the piney, citrus ,and fruity complexities found in its aroma.

Can. Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry and has decent minerally carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet. Nice light cooling pine with a spicy edge. Touch of mellow piney fruits. Light finish. Nice, clean and very drinkable. Garden have done a nice job of showcasing this rarely showcased hop.

On tap at Craft room, Zagreb. Pours hazy orange, medium white head. Herbal hops, malty, some sweetness in the middle, moderate bitterness in finish. Medium bodied. First time trying single hop with Palisade and I'm not a fan.

Can. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Medium amber colour. Soft haze. Film and ring of off white head. Nose has baked, ripe citrus. Hint of menthol. Jammy strawberry. Woody herb. Background of spicy malts. Taste is light, spicy, jammy sweet. Some piny, sappy bitterness. Nice balance here. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Low to medium carbonation. Sits nicely oily and slick. Bitterness builds towards the end, staying spicy and herbal throughout. Nice one.

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Dark golden coloured, small white to off-white head, whiff of herbs in the nose. Moderate malty, herbal hoppy, flowery and light fruity with dry bitterish/sweet finish. Good aroma but lack of taste is evident.

Tap at Craft Room. Misty darker amber body, thick white head. Herbal, earthy aroma. Interesting nuff. Herbal, bit flowery, vaguely fruity taste. Medium body, maybe very light phenolic touches. Okay, shows what Palisade is like and heck, that’s what it was made for. But expect no more.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2017 On tap at Craft Room, Opatovina, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Hazy amber, small off-white head. Moderate to heavily hopped, mostly earthy, light fruity, some chocolate-like aroma develops. Toasty malts. Skunky. Moderate bitterness. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate lasting, dry and hoppy aromatic finish. Unusual hops for aroma, but they got exactly what they wanted. 737413=3.4
