Bottle from the brewery. Pours black oily and thin, with off white head that is completely gone in seconds. Nose is big hit of expresso coffee, black sugar, caramel. It’s very sweet, oily in the mouth, but very nice. Strong coffee and sugary sweetness. Best drunk in small hits. Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2011
Bottle from the Kernel Brewery. It pours opaque black, with a thin beige head. The nose is caramel, coffee, chocolate, dark cherry, jam and varnish. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, smoke, salted liquorice, tobacco, toffee, chocolate, toasted coconut, varnish, berries, vanilla and underlying alcohol, with a dry roasted finish. Full body, fine carbonation and creamy mouth-feel. Great balance, impressively smooth and damn tasty. Boom! MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2011
