Disappointing, some vague hoppy notes and toiday flavours but nothing is fully asserted and it doesnt really work.

Chocolate, avellana, toffee, ligero caf. En boca es maltosa y de final seco que equilibra bien.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie. Pours deep chestnut brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma of caramel, nutty malts. Smooth, exceptionally well balanced taste bringing forth warming caramel malts, hints of quadrupel-like dark fruits, mild hop bitterness, more caramel. Lovely Brown Ale.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with small pale tan head. Aromas are very nice: fruity -grape- but smoothly so, some malt and yeast and minimal hops really. The taste starts fruity but quickly merges into a chocolate, roasted coffee flavour with a somewhat hoppy finish. Very complex and interesting!! Medium body, oily, low to medium carbonation. I quite like it!

Bottle from St Pancras Sourced Market. Mid- to dark brown. Translucent with a tiny bit of beige head and lacing. Light aroma of oak and chestnut with a bit of Nutella. Gorgeous sweet taste, chewy and nutty. A nice earthy hop pervades all the way through but it noticeably present in the long finish. Perfectly judged carbonation. Very tasty although it isnt my favourite Kernel beer.

Bottle, but 6.2%. Clear, dark brown beer with an off-white head. Smells of malt and caramel. Flavour follows suit. Malt, caramel, biscuit, a light fruitiness that carries through into the aftertaste. Surprisingly light and mellow for the strength. A bit too drinkable, perhaps!

On keg at the Bow Bar. At 6.2%. Appearance - dark brown to black and cloudy. Nose - light nuts and toffee. A bit cold for the style. Praline comes through strongly at the end. Taste - loads of praline again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet sweet texture and a long rich sweet finish. Overall - good brown ale ok.

Keg in the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Deep brown with a thin cream head. Mild fruity aroma. The taste is nutty with a little chocolate and light spice. Tasty enough, but this is a long way off the Kernels usual standards.

Bottle from Oddbins Loondon Bridge. Colour is very dark brown with an off white to tan head, of medium size. Nose is moderately roasted melt, dark chocolate, mild nuttiness, little bit of acidic and new world hop, but its subtle. Taste is roasted and toasted malts, dark chocolate, slight nuttiness and slight mix of earthy and citrus hop. Its a nice modern brown ale with some new world hop giving it a bit of kick but mainly where the roasted malts are giving it the depth it requires.
