Bottle from Kernel brewery. It pours near black, with a thin beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, earth, chocolate and some dark fruit. The taste is bitter-sweet chocolate, roasted malt, earth, tangy dark fruit (particularly blackcurrant and blueberry) and filter coffee, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well balanced and flavoursome. Great stuff.

Bottle... Pours hazy and dark brown with mahogany highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma features fudge and a mildly earthy component. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is burnt and medium-bitter - charcoal and ash come to mind. Finishes astringent, carbonic, lightly bitter and Sahara-dry. Not my cup of tea, but too solid to dismiss. Bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94! thewolf (12590) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 5, 2015

ABV 6.3%. 33cl shared bottle @ home from De Molen. Nearly black color, minimal brownish mostly diminishing good lacing head. Aroma dark roasted coffee in the nose, more dark roasted coffee, toast, smoke, coal, quinie, tons of licorice, tobacco, ash. Taste whiff of sweetness, extreme bitterness, slightly acidic. Full body, slightly sticky texture, soft carbonation, forever lasting roasty bitter finish. Great dessert beer. Ferris (15265) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 17, 2014
Bottle - Dark roast with bittersweet chocolate and some dark fruit. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark roast, almost burnt, bittersweet chocolate and a hoppy bitterness in the finish. Very good and all the sweeter for this review ties me with FONEFAN. For the moment anyways. oqnid (131) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 6, 2014
