simontomlinson (673) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2017
Thin beige head left a cover on a lightly effervescent dark brown body. Dark over ripe fruits, demerara, treacle, licorice & malty aroma. Medium bodied. Oily, minimal carbonation, greasy & so dry on the finish. Dark berries, pine, bitter citrus, malt, coffee & roasted with a hoppy back. Good one - a near perfect Stout

3.2
climberbob (497) - Virginia, USA - NOV 15, 2017
Bottle marked 7.3% into tulip glass. Looks good - pitch black w thin tan head. Aroma of marmite, leather and molasses. Oily mouthfeel. Taste is a bit woody and disappointing. Marmite coming though - it would be better if vegemite. Not getting any of the espresso or smoke. I have been looking for a great classic English stout or porter but this is unfortunately (or hopefully) not it? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
