Bottle, seen as 7.0% ABV. Pours marvellous dark brown with a beautiful brown head that is mostly retained. Pretty opaque to light, upon reflection-absorbance it is (extremely dark) orange in hue. Smells of fine very dark chocolate, some raisins and very clear dates. One could say that it smells like a very good coffee with cocoa notes, tiny bit of woodiness. In mouth it is very rich and chocolatey, like 85% cocoa chocolate with forest fruit hints -never overpowering- and of roasted malts. Dry mouthfeel, absolutely stunning. There is a perceivable hop-derived bitterness towards the end but it is exquisitely blended to avoid its prominence and to join the malty profile. Nutty in retrohale. I think there is little further to improve upon in terms of flavours. Palate is dry, oily and with a beautifully long finish that is evenly balanced with all notes evenly sharing the flavour without fading. This is a truly excellent beer!
