UPDATED: DEC 3, 2014 Bottle; from Brwery, thanks Evin! Opaque black colour, mocha lacing diminishes, aroma is smoke, chocolate, light peat, fudge, some citrus hops. Taste is superb. Stunning dark Belgian chocolate, like real premium stuff, smoke, some leather, some peat, fudge, toffee, roasted malts, a littel rough on the bitternes, oil ,vanilla, raisins, brown sugar, depth and complexity is stunning, really long drinking and warms up very very nicely. Ken is right, lay this for a year and it woulld be intrigueing. I may do the same. Great work, Evin! Drinkability is there and alcohol is well hidden. Great stuff. Bottle - bottled on 7th October 2013 - re-rate. Deep guey chocolate gateaux; motor oil; tar; leather; velvet; stupidly drinkable for the abv; nice roasted malts; slight charcoal; cigar ash and wooden notes. Some blackcurrant and oil and cream. A very rich and rewarding imperial stout and in my eyes probably the best in the country of course along with GKHR SR. Aged this is even better! 4.5

(bottle) deepest brown colour with a very small beige head. aroma of brown sugar, bran flakes and cherry schnaps, with some notes of roasted malts, bread dough and floral hops. flavour is mostly toasted malts, heavy liquorce and caramel, with a hint of tobacco, some chocolate-covered raisins and a touch of ethanol in the light roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle 330ml (BB 05.02.2021). Bottled on 05.02.2016, 9% ABV. Completely black with large, light-brown head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee first, then it is intense roasty. Mega roasty in taste, chocolate and coffee also with subtle sour in aftertaste. Bitterness is roasty, long and agressive but the beer is smooth with nice sweetness at the finish. Realy good, complex and good balanced RIS with very good hidden alcohol that only warms a bit inside.

28-02-17 // bottle at home. 9.5% ABV. Deep black beer with deep beige head. Strong malty aroma, with coffee and some sweetness. Taste is quie light for the high ABV, but with loads of roasted malts, caramel sweetness, coffee, some liquorice.

Nice aroma and a fairly smooth sensation on the palate. Slight afternote of bitterness once consumed but pleasant enough.

Bottle. Black colour, small head. Aroma is soy sauce, coffee, liquorice. I think it lacks some body. A bit harsh, not very drinkable.

Arme fort chocolat. Faible mousse. Trs onctueuse. Plutt soft pour une impriale. Trs classique mais sans fausse note.

Chocolate Aroma. Low head and low carbonation. Feels like a building block that could be used for a fancy imperial Stout. On its own its a very good stout but falls short of being an imperial Stout in my opinion. Could drink lots of this.
