Keg at the brewery. Pours black-brown, oily, with a tan and bubbly head. Vanilla and sharp cocoa on the nose. Wood. Great sweet flavor but not cloying in any way, heavy, roasty, woody, bittersweet chocolate and vanilla. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, some oak, vanilla, mild sweetness, bitter and burnt wood. Great. Superb. Wowee! Theis (15151) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2011

Black, tight tan head. Gorgeous. Huge, but also mellow cakey and cookie aroma. Oh so tasty. This was just too enjoyable to drink, I didn’t want to take my attention off the beer to write down anything, and neither did Anna. Don’t savour it for too long though, as once it’s warmed up too much the palate goes from smooth and full to actually slick. However, I was stacking, so I drank much of this more than half an hour after it was poured. It’s so well balanced, it’s big and powerful, but not agressive. It’s a tame 800lb gorilla. Vanilla is always present, but never out of place. Absolutely stunning brew. World class.
Draft at the brewery. Thanks to Nate and the crew for this special brew. Extremely dark brown color, three bubble head. Aroma of Madagascar! Taste has vanilla, coffee, chocolate liqueur. Very smooth. Delicious. Dedollewaitor (16387) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2011

Kernel, London. Quite much pitch black colour, with a minor head. Aroma is coffee, wood, vanilla and a bunch of liquorice. Flavour is very much the same in a beautiful balance.

On tap at the brewery. Thanks to Nate for this RBESG special. Opaque dark brown beer, little tan head. Dark chocolate and vanilla nose - very nice. Light dry palate. Rich dark malt. Fresh wood, dark chocolate and vanilla. Trace of coffee underneath. A little minerals. Dry woody finish with a mildly bitter aftertaste. The only thing keeping this great beer from a higher score is a slight trace of paint.
Draught at the brewery.
Black coloured with a small beige head.
Roasted aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee.
Sweet and roasted flavour of dark chocolate, vanilla and oak.
Too much vanilla. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2011
Draught at the brewery. Thanks Nate for bringing this on during the RBESG-gathering. Black beer with a brown head. Oak and vanilla aroma, milky, chocolate, cocoa. Huge vanilla flavor, oaky, spicy, vinous, fruity, figs, metal notes. Too much vanilla but still good.
