The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, combined with medium notes of alcohol and light notes of chocolate, leading to a dry and roasted finish. Opaque black stout. Good chocolate coloured head. Rich dark malt nose with a promise of dark fruits and warming spirits. Smooth softish palate, semi dry. Rich dark malt and cream. A little dark chocolate and a trace of coffee. Whisper of red fruits underneath. Finishes semi dry with a little licquorish. Quite light for an Impy and hides the 12.5% quite well. Delicious and drinkable.
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a thick and syrupy pitch black with a tiny brown head. Hard roast malt in the nose, almost tar-like. Very thick and solid body, extreme roastiness, almost charcoalish with loads of chocolate and a solid malt astringency in the finish. 200111
