The_Osprey (9361) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2017
September 2017 - Theydon Bois' 20K Tasting at One Canada Square. Bottle thanks to Kenny. As 'The Kernel India Pale Ale 100 Centennial', 10.1%, 2011 bottling, their 100th brew. Pours a hazy matte orange-brown, opaque, foamy off-white head leaves light lacing. Aroma is orange peel, zesty, little oxidised and vegetal later on. Body is smooth with low carbonation. Taste is oxidised, sugary, honey, straw, grassy bitterness is still there. Interesting to try it but obviously would have been miles better fresh. (6-4-5-4-13=3.2)

Bottle shared on Level 42 for Cloin's 20K Tasting, 13/09/2017. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A murky deep amber coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is Aged, vanilla, grassy hop, oak, little horsey, mint. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chewy toffee, midget gems, pine needles, woody aged hop. Paalte is semi sweet, chewty, sticky hop, moderate carbonation. Showing its age a bit.

Bottle split at my 20 KAY tastin, big thanks to the Kenneth for this WHALE, 13/09/17.
Hazed orange amber with a decent off white cap that clears to a swirl.
Nose is ripe melon, dirty citric pith, grapfruit, caramel, earthy rip.
Taste comprises sticky tropical fruits, caramel malts, light spice, soft breads, pine, resinous hop licks.
Medium bodied with a light bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a sweet and sour rinse allied to some hop bite.
Held up really well.

(Bottle, purchased at the brewery a couple of years ago) Hazy amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, dried apricots, grapefruit, caramel and lots of resiny hops. Malty, fruity taste with grapefruit, orange peel, apricots, rye bread, caramel and quite a bitter finish with loads of resiny hops, a slight syrupy sweetness and hints of warming alcohol. Almost full body, fairly smooth mouthfeel, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made DIPA, with a impressive hop presence. Very nice.

Bottled 09/03/14. A reddy amber coloured beer with a white head. Lots of big hops, big malts and a big body. Quite sugary sweet amongst the massive hoppiness. Lots of fruit. Should have had this fresher obviously as the malts are now dominating over the hops.

18.05.2013. 0,33l Bottle. BB 25.05.2014. Golden orange colour with almost no head. Hazy and unclear with lots of yeast residue in the bottle. Very fresh aroma of yeast and floral sitrusy hops. Strong alcohol with rich body gives a very strong and tastefull beer. Flavours of yeast. Grapefruit, and spruce as well. Very good strong IPA.
