Beersiveknown (5302) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAR 13, 2012
Bottle at home thanks to DanTheMan278! Those NZ hops really make themselves known on the nose. There’s gooseberry and watermelon plus a touch of citra mango. Plenty of bitterness too...mouth drying but too moreish to stop for water. Lots of citrus -satsumas maybe? plus more of the aforementioned fruit. A slight touch of dark malt asserts itself as toast but this beer is all about the hops. Gentle carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

Leighton (22327) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2011
Bottle at the brewery, London. Pours black-brown with a foamy, off-white head. Earth, pine and light roast in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor, strong grassy hops, charred malt roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Dry, dirty hop finish, char, pine, grass, some citrus. Very good. Some woody earth lingers. Good stuff.

Nice lemon aroma with a hint of espresso . The colour black with a yeast haze . Very dormant flavour of citra hops , but balanced roast malt flavour , perhaps a hint of vanilla in the background .

harrisoni (19341) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle from Bottle Shop Canterbury. Now I was one of the first to embrace this style but also one of the first to fall out of love with it. There was just too much going on. A lack of harmony. So I approach this beer with a levep of scepticism. Black looking beer with thick dark beige head. A good lokking beer no doubt. Citrusy hops on the aroma are aluring. Yes well the malt is not the roasted variety that some have usex and it is without doubt a tasty beer and pushed back a certain amount of my prejudice. Its smooth with just a dash of ash. Its good. Yes a hoppy what? A hoppy dark ale? Smooth hoppy and rather good.

Bottle at Craig’s house. caramel, spruce, black, lightly bitter, light body, sticky, average carbonation.
