0.33l bottle (7.1% ABV) from beermerchants.com A deep dark brown one with a massive and lasting beige head that’s nicely lacing down the sides of the glass. On the aroma it’s really hoppy with citrus, ripe fruits but it also has a really nice - but subtle sweet chocolate thing going on. It smells really nice. It has a really slick texture with a average big-bubbly carbonation level. Flavors are almost roasted-hoppy ans also a bit sweet with dark malts, subtle chocolate, some alcohol, strong bitter - almost peppery finish and aftertaste with a watery mouthfeel in the aftertaste, but the flavor just sticks around forever. Mildly dry all the way also actually. A strange experience, but I liked it. Again a good one again from the Kernel. 18.06.2012 Fin (11047) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2012
Bottle, from Kernel Brewery, consumed at Church Stretton, Shropshire, campsite, Thursday 23rd August 2012 Soft in mouth, sweet lemon with some chocolate, really good tanginess, furry, fuzzy bitterness, some dark chocolate bourbon biscuit. Lovely, really good combination of flavours. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.8

330ml bottle from The Kernel Brewery. Almost black colour, big foamy head. Pine hop aroma. Hop grapefruit flavour. Citrus aftertaste. Good black IPA. Scopey (16227) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 26, 2012
Bottle at the Kernel Brewery. It pours very dark brown, with a thin off-white head. The nose is pine, varnish, caramel, roasted malt and salted liquorice. The taste is salted caramel, rye, roasted malt, coffee, liquorice and pine, with a big dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A tasty black IPA.

C= Very dark brown but not black, more muddy water glasto style farm sludge. Nice looking retention that pops and brakes down in mins. Then a staying firm film.
N: Breezy, nutteler, closed, diacetyl vanilla notes mingeling with milky low roast notes. Some pine edges trying to cut through but all very low toned and yeasty/wheaty, that a rye thing?.
P: Slick, very balenced! Quick, fleeting but exciting, real bright coco powder thing going on with a nice bitter twang that fades in lighley toasted mocca latte coffee finish. Some light lemon citrus flavours right the way through keeping it lifted and moorish. Nice sweep clean finish that might put of some but very tasty.

Bottled. Deep coppery colour with a small brown head. Aroma is fruity, floral and some grassy notes. Also some sweet maltyness as well. Flavour is sweet malts, liquorice, mild rye as well as quite big salted liquorice in the finish. BenH (3431) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 24, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, tropical fruits, zesty. Taste has orange zest, grapefruit, coffee and chocolate, little pine. Smooth and bitter, over carbonated. Not bad TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 24, 2012
Bottle on the links. Brown with a white. Lovely aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Flavour has some malty chocolate and coffee resting on the outskirts of a lovely hoppiness. Mango and pineapple. Again, a little yeasty but still delicious. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 15, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy opaque brown with an off-white head. Lightly greasy and citrusy hop aroma with subtle roast. Medium body, carbonation is a little excessive, licorice and roast with a subtle bitterness. Pleasant. 150812
