Bottle Rehills Ncl. Light grapefruit and satsuma aroma, nice soft spicy bitterness, with earthy notes and a pleasant yeasty finish. There’s some creamy hints, really enjoyable and a great single hop IPA. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 17, 2014
Tap at the Old Fountain cheers to Ken for the beer. Pours glowingly golden with a small, firm white cap on top. Nose is chock full of tropical fruits - nice melon and mango focus. Plenty of grapefruit and citric tang comes through. Taste is tangy citrus fruits with more of the big tropical focus - mango and melon work hand in hand. Sweet with moderate bitterness running through the middle for a lengthy finish> A nice treat after a great tasting. Good stuff Garrold (5605) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2014
Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Cloudy, pale orange colour. Bright white, bubbly, lasting head. Steely, pithy, fresh grapefruit. Some orange squash. Taste is fresh sweetness. Pithiness throughout. Light sweetness on the palate, giving way to a grapefruit juice bitterness. Not the massive bosh I might have expected. But no less a beer for it... drsordr (2861) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Bottle pour hazy light yellow. Nose pine.citrus,resin. Taste similar to nose with balancing sweetness. Mild set fruit. Light bitter finish. Leighton (22301) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2014
Bottle at home in London - sourced from Kris Wines. Pours mostly clear gold, fairly effervescent with a thick, frothy off-white head. The aroma has a decent amount of melon, along with juicy orange and grapefruit, some bready malts, too. Medium sweet flavor with rounded, bready malt character, low bitterness, a bit of ripe orange, tangerine, mild pine. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, lightly resinous with sticky pine, ripe citrus fruits, further melon, orange, underlying bready malt sugars. Quite a tasty IPA with nice, juicy hops but it doesn’t sing the way a great Kernel IPA does. Still, it’s damn drinkable and better than most IPAs out there.
