330ml Bottle from Vino Wines, Edinburgh (£3.15):Desverger (13704) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2013
Pine hops and some grapefruit with a stronger than usual tropical fruit aroma that shines through. There is some good fruity notes with some mango, orange and citrus fruits as well as a little spice. This one is also very well balanced on the nose with touches of apricot toward the tail end of the beer.
Cloudy looking, orange amber colour with a thumb sized, wavy looking white head that has a bubbly appearance and stays pretty well.
Bitter hops with pine and grapefruit complimenting them followed by plenty of tropical fruits and sweetness with apricot, orange and mango all featuring. There is a nice citrus flavouring in there as well and the balance is excellent.
Medium bodied and very refreshing with a lot of pine bitterness and some sweet, fruity notes to it. There is a moderate amount of carbonation and the finish is slightly dry and bitter.
Up there with the best IPA’s I have tried and certainly one of the best English beers I have reviewed here. This one started very fruity with good pine and grapefruit helpings that went down great and were very refreshing. A perfect example of the style, falling somewhere in between a regular and a double IPA.
(Bottle from Mr Lawrence, SE London) A hazy gold pour with a fine white head, medium in body and with persistent clinging lacing. Aroma and taste is prominent citrus hops with waves of grapefruit, orange and lemon tempered by caramel biscuity malt, pine, overall giving an initial sweet/sharp hit on the palate with a lingering bitter warm boozy finish. Immense. planky84 (3493) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2013
Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Man alive that’s a good nose! Mango, kiwi fruit, tangerine, pear, peach. Peach, pear, tropical fruit and citrus explosion in the flavour. Long bitter linger. By Jove, I like this one! madmitch76 (26413) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2013

Light haze on this amber - gold beer. Good white head. Palate is soft with fine carbonation. Floral Centennial orange starts with a little hop skunk. Very nice tangy lemon - lime in the mid, almost sherbet. Subtle mango - apricot underneath. A lovely hop fruit medley! Mild creamy malt base. Moderate bitterness in the aftertaste. Kernel are scarily good!

Unbelievably this is still going strong. Good orange peel and orange, touches of lemon and grapefruit. Nice tang. Great!
Really, Really like this. Poise, stylish and refined. So many IPA’s (a style i love) are OTT. "Lets smash everything in there and over power the drinker with hops, they’ll never know!" Not this IPA. There isnt much of a nose but it explodes in the mouth Good body, some residual sweetness but balanced perfectly with bitter hops. Finishes with juicy tropical fruits, pineapple, mango. A great beer.

(Drank only 3 weeks from ’bottled on’ date, brought direct from the brewery) The aroma is mostly passionfruit, honey and cream. Similar to a solero ice cream. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Not much head or lacing. Taste is tropical fruit, spice and a little clove. There is a nice bitterness on the top of the throat, with a balanced warmth from the alcohol. Absolutely beautiful IPA! wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2013
Bottle. Good-looking orange pour .Graprefruity resinous hop aroma with notes of biscuity malt, Sweetish fruity flavour with some cracking hop bitterness happening. The Kernel rarely disappoint. If the only beer on the planet was the Kernel and it was sold everywhere, would it be utopia? Pretty darn close I’d say. Scopey (16262) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle at Kernel. It pours cloudy orange-amber with a small white head. The nose is pine, resin, orange squash, pineapple, as well as some herbal and floral notes. The taste is orange, mango, pineapple, resin, pine, herbal edge, floral, salt and some alcohol warmth with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice depth of flavour and well-balanced. One of best new kernel IPAs I’be had in a while.
