On tap at CBC, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of complex fruity notes, resinous hops, and just enough malt to back. Flavour is quite complex for an IPA, with notes of dry zesty fruity hops, biscuity malts, and some pine. Exceedingly flavourful, dry ad piney. Very drinkable. Awesome stuff.

Courtesy of & thx! to tderoeck. 33 cl. bottle shared. Pours amber, little white head. Nose is light white grape (Nelson Sauvin fare), citrus, hint pine, slightly floral. Taste is white grapes, kiwi, touch pine, bitter pine resin, bark, more bitter kiwi & floral touch in the finish. Easy to drink body. Very nice, I don’t really feel like the Kernel beers are all that different although they are quite good. Obviously they are all just the same beer with different hops so that make sense but even the Pale Ale & IPA series etc. don’t seem to have a base which is all that different.

Bottle, Rehills, Newcastle. Big orange aroma, and the orange flavour just keeps on coming, with grapefruit and yeasty notes in there too. Subtle, balanced and up to the Kernel’s high standard.

330ml bottle courtesy of mr_h. Muddy amber brown, not much head, lot of sediment. Pine hop aroma. Biscuit grapefruit hop flavour. Very smooth with sweet hoppy aftertaste. Very nice typical Kernel IPA.

Bottle via IP trade (thanks Theydon Bois). Pours a hazy amber gold body with medium white head. Aroma is fresh pine and citrus hop. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of fresh orange pulp, tropical fruits, light lemon funk, grapefruit, faint dank herb and citric hops. Very nice IPA.

Hazy amber beer. Strong citrus/grapefruit aroma and the flavour has the same qualities but with a bitter hop taste too. Quite a tangy fruit finish with a lasting bitter-sweet citrus taste.

Cold bottle, about a month old. Two tone orange colour, cloudy. Smell is very promising - caramel, cat urine, tropical fruits. Quite mellow but complex flavour - indistinct fruits. Flavour doesn’t quite live up to the smell, but it’s still a really nice IPA. Some bitterness in the late aftertaste. Very clean and refreshing beer.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a cloudy orange-amber beer with a zesty citrus fruity flavour, a creamy mouthfeel and a smooth fruity finish.

I don’t wanna hear it. What’s in a name? How’s your pancake? When we get there.
