Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Kensington. Pours hazy golden with an off white head. Nice fruity aroma. Of mango, peach and pineapple. The taste has more tropical fruits over smooth caramel. Nice easy drinking. Great beer as you would expect from the Kernel.

330ml bottle at home in Richmond as ’The Kernel India Pale Ale Chinook Simcoe’, 6.8%, about 1 month old. Dirty, hazy orange, highly sparkling, dense creamy head, full lacing. Aroma is black grape, peach, plum, touch of rubber. Fruity, typically, but slightly different to the usual citrus or tropical stuff. Body is fairly light with spritzy carbonation. Taste is grassy Simcoe, pine, quite dry with a woody astringency - feels like it’s coating the mouth, puckering astringency in the finish. Reminds me of some early Kernel work. I like it.

Keg at the Euston tap. A clouded golden orange coloured pour with a reluctant white head. Aroma is super juicy, tropical mango lychee, grape and midget gems. Flavour is composed of white bready grains, raw grains, grassy citrus, tropical notes, orange rind. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation, semi drying finish. Very well balanced. Very good
