Backlog rating. Keg at the brewery tap room, London. It pours a slightly hazy straw color with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy, with notes of citrus, pineapple and grass. Taste is medium fruity and medium bitter. Notes of gingerbread, grapefruit and ripe apricots. Finishes medium bitter and slightly zingy with lemony notes. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Tasty. 330ml bottle from beermerchants.com. Orange brown colour, not much head. Spicy fruity hop aroma. Bitter citrus resin hop flavour. Very bitter aftertaste. Good but Kernel do better IPAs. EdKing (2586) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2012
Bottle from the brewery. Pours clear rusty orange, with big foam white head. After a few moments the beer clouds over. Nose is delightful. Big hit of grapefruit, citrousy sherbet, orange, caramel malt, a touch of tropical pineapple and mango in the background. Taste is minerally and a bit more subdued than the aroma. Possibly because this bottle may be 6 months old. Still very nice. Orange citrous, grapefruit, hop bitter, quite a lot of that mineral and flintiness on the finish. Poured from a 330ml bottle in Feb ’12.
Pours a hazy orange/gold with a mahooosive 2 fingers of white head!
The head dissipated during drinking but still retained a good half finger at the last drop and plenty of lacing ensued!
Predominant smells were Citrus hops, pine with grass and straw lurking somewhere thereabouts!
Tastes encompassed citrus fruits, an orange marmalade flavour, add some grapefruit, pine, wood and with a slighthly sour and bitter aftertaste which was a highlight of this beer for me!
The mouthfeel was that of medium bodied with plenty of bite and moderate carbonation.
To summarise - another great IPA from the Kernel crew and I particularly enjoyed the slightly sour to bitter aftertaste on this one!

0.33l bottle from beermerchants.com This one pours a heavy cloudy, actually on the border of murky - light brown/orange body with a small bubbly just off-white head. The aroma on this one is quite grassy hoppy, it has a clear ripe fruity tone that could remind a bit of really ripe mango. Also a distinct cat piss hint in here. It has a nice oily texture and it’s on the low side of average carbonated. Nice flavors with pine and soft hoppy citrus tones. I also get that red fruit with lots of black seeds. What’s it called again? Aahh.. Anyhow, it ends with hints of both sweetness and thin grapefruit, and it’s leaving the mouth mild dry. All flavors are well melted together, and this is one of those you just sit down an enjoy. A nice IPA again from the Kernel. 16.03.2012

Bottle. Hazy golden color. Classic lovely big Kernel head. The nose is grassy, some lemon rind, tropical fruit, light pastoral. The taste is more subtle sweet tropical fruit and cirtus, with a moderately dry bitter finish. Easy, nicely balanced, not overly assertive. Medium carbonation. Overall, another good one from the Kernel. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2012

Very hazy amber beer, tidy white head. Silky semi dry palate that is a little airy and fresh. Orange hits you straight away underpinned by nice creamy malt. Bitterish pineapple in the mid and a trace of grapefruit. Finishes with some nettle like bitterness which carries over in to a long robust bitter and citrus aftertaste. Intense!
Bottle at home in London. Pours cloudy orange with a large, frothy head. Melon and tropical fruits in the aroma, some bubblefum and light pine. Absolutely delicious. Medium sweet with a sturdy, offsetting bitterness of wood, toasty grass, pine, and citrus rind. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, some lightly sticky, resinous hops, ripe citrus, wood, toasty wholegrain bread, grapefruit. Outstanding. Definitely rises above the rest.
