Hazy deep gold beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is fairly dry with just modest carbonation. Surprisingly thin malt. Rich orangey hops, almost orange liqueur. Well integrated skunk and a trace of lemon. Finishes dry and spicy. Nice but I think this needs to develop more in the bottle. Will try another in 3 weeks or so. 3.6

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Lightly hazy gold beer with a short white head that was short lived. The beer largely clears after 5 mins. Very nice nose of peachy tropical fruits and mild skunk. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous with a modest carbonation level that is only a little more fizzy than the bottles. Very nice tropical fruits, semi sweet. Mango, peach and others, juicy. Light aniseed spice and mellow skunk. Finishes mildly crisp. Better than the bottle!
Bottle at home... Hazy amber... Bubbly white head... Soft dry cats piss orange... Very juicy fruits... Big floral tones... Dry toffee Leighton (21299) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle at the brewery shared with Tommy Boy. Pours mostly clear dark gold white a bubbly white head. Jammy citrus in the nose, orange, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with sugary pale malts, lots of jammy citrus, slight pine needles, alcohol, dry hay, tangerine, marmalade. Medium to full bodied with soft, almost flat carbonation. Fairly warming to finish with moderate hop oils, pine resin, pale malt sugars, mandarin orange, marmalade. Some gritty, dirty hay and pine in the aftertaste. Fairly tasty for the most part but lacking condition and, notably, that je ne sais quoi one expects from The Kernel. Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge, at home, 13/12/13.
Murky dark amber/marmalade with a thin off white bubbly top that clears to edgeing and a swirl.
Nose is bitter orange pith, light ear wax, rotting mango, citric dipped straw, light booze.
Taste comprises ripe mango, orange pith, citric dipped straw, boozey tropical tang, bitter grapefruit, bitter hop notes.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry grassy closure with a good dose of hop bitterness and pithy tropicals.
Ok DIPA, a little harsh though, not quite as refined as I’d expect. Drinkable affair none the less.
