Backlog rating. Bottle from the brewery tap room, London. It pours a hazy orange color with a tiny white head. Aroma is freash and hoppy with notes of tropical fruit salad, citrus peel, sticky toffee and bread. Taste is fruity and sweet, with notes of caramel and booze. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, decent DIPA, but feel like Kernel rarely masters this style as much as they do IPAs and APAs mR_fr0g (14028) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2014
Bottle at home picked up at the brewery in 11/13. Under Scopey’s reccomendation i’ve sat on this for a while. Aroma is caramel, strawberry icecream, raspverry, hop leaf. Clear golden coloured pour with a lasting pure hite head. Flavour is hop leaf, caramel, strawberry, little of hop veg matter, orange, marmelade. A little earthy and rough round the edges. Palate is medium sweet, some hot alcohol, moderate carbonation. A little hot alcohol. gunnfryd (15499) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 10, 2014
Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour is fruit, malt, peaches, alcohol, caramel, pine. full body. Nice/OK beer. EdKing (2668) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. Clear orange amber, medium to thin white head. Nose is lots of citrous bitter grapefruit and some pithy orange. Lots of hop resin and some sweet sherbet. First taste is surprisingly not so alcoholic but it creeps up on you. High IBU and lots of pine, hope resin and on the finish some menthol. Lots of soft sweet citrous fruit but very green leafy hop bitter. Quite an IBU kick on the finish. Pushing the balance for me. mcberko (19869) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2014
330mL bottle, pours a hazy golden / copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney and resinous hops, with a dry caramely biscuity malt backbone. Flavour is very similar, with a big piney and resinous hop profile upfront and a dry biscuity malt backbone. Fairly boozy for a double IPA - not one of The Kernel’s better beers, but still pretty solid.

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Murky yellow pour with a fast fading white head. Piney hop, ganja and grapefruit snout. Virtually flat. Sweet, tropical fruity flavour with some maltiness in tandem with solid hop bitterness. Some alco presence. Dry bitter finish. Not their finest hour but enjoyable stuff nonetheless. daje (4548) - NORWAY - APR 26, 2014
