July 2017 - Tasting at One Canada Square. Bottle thanks to Mr Tipl. As 'The Kernel B.A.D.S.C.C.A.NS', 10.5%, 2012 vintage. Amber orange, translucent, sparkling, foamy off-white head. Aroma is orange oil, resin, some light whisky. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has more orange oil and honey, dense sugars, touch more whisky. Pretty sweet and unrefined but it's quite nice. Wore on me a little over time - a good sharing beer. (6-4-7-4-14=3.5)

Second one of the two BADSCCANS beers I got, both bottled on 14/6/12 so just over a year old. This one doesn’t have the Galaxy dry hop. In the nose it you get the Strathmill whisky aromas, very nice they are too. Lots of citrussy & pine hop flavours coming through with caramel malt, quite sweet but not sickly and the finish is crisp and slightly bitter. Complex but very well balanced. Not a world away from the dry hopped version but I think the whisky comes through even more here and it’s very good too. Really enjoyed this.

Tap at Borefts 2012 - Bodegraven. Pours clear gold with a light, frothy white head. White bread malt nose, some punches of alcohol. Medium sweet flavor with further simple white bread malts, some white sugar, hay, booze. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with still more white bread, sugar, some moderately ripe citrus fruits. Meh. It’s alright but The Kernel can do much better.

Balazs (787) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2013
Poured golden yellow, with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of herbs, caramel, whiskey, earth, orange peel, perhaps a bit of vanilla. Bitter, piney taste in a medium body and plenty of carbonation. Alcohol is definitely there. Unusual, but a good one.
