Bottle at home 22nd March 2012. Pours cloudy, red, brown colour good head that grows a bit. Aroma is strong sweet citrus and pine sap perfume, this follows though in the taste which is delicious sweet hops and well balanced, some malt. Great beer, will pick some more up from London ASAP. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 18, 2012
Tap at the brewery. Caramel red/brown coloured with small golden head. Aroma is hoppy, fruit, orange, bit of pine, some citrus and some kind of sweeter berry. Bit of grain too. Taste is hoppy bitterness, and fruity sweet, maybe strawberry, along with lemon and orange. Malty too, maybe a bit bread-like, but sweet bread. Finish is slowly diminishing hoppy bitterness and malt. Really nice. JorgeLee (2280) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2012
Bottle from the Kernel. Cloudy reddish brown colour with thick white head. Strong citric hop aroma. Quite high carbonation gives a foamy mouthfeel. I like this amber/red IPA style, the malts used give a nice background to the typical Kernel hop character with a long biting hop finish. Cracking stuff! Served fom a 330ml bottle into a tulip style glass (drank Apr ’12) this beer poured a ’slightly’ cloudy dark amber/brown with tints of red with a thick off-white head.
A hoppy/fruity aroma greets the nose allied to a little pine and a pinch of malt.
The taste matches the nose, throw in some citrus flavours, notably sweet orange/mandarin and a good dose of pine and you arrive at a most enjoyable IPA.
Mouthfeel was good, medium to low carbonation and a bitter - dry but slightly sweet finish.
Overall - another good quality IPA form Kernel. Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 26, 2012
Bottle and Keg at the Kernel Brewery. It pours cloud dark red, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is dough, farmyard, leaf, hay, raw hop and a touch of bubblegum. The taste is pine, resin, oily hop, leaf, mandarin, tangerine, marmalade and hay, with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and flavoursome. Delicious!

Very hazy brown - amber beer, big cream coloured head. The head has a nice sherbet hop orange - lemon, Centennial I would guess? Smooth palate with fine carbonation. Creamy malt. Bitter orange pith. Tangy orange marmalade. Strong green hops with zesty lemon underneath. Pretty bitter finish - the eyelids were starting to twitch - and it lingers. Minerals. A tangy hop treat.

Clear medium to dark orange amber colour with a large large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, dark fruit, wood notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sharp, hoppy, dark fuit, grapefruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle at home in London. Pours red-gold, almost clear, with a foamy, off-white head. Toasty pine in the nose, some berries and ripe citrus. Nice flavor, medium sweet, with some under ripe grapefruit, dirt, pine, and tangy dark citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sticky, resinous finish, lots of dirty bitterness, plenty of citrus rind, pine sap, grapefruit, mild wood, and toast. A very nice twist on the usual Kernel IPA. gunnar (9923) - Sandnes, NORWAY - APR 6, 2012
Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours deep golden/amber with a huge frothy off-white head. Strong piney hop aroma, sweet orange and marmelade as well. Taste is moderate sweet, thick and sticky, a good body supporting the overall bitter beer, with loads of piney and resiny hops, dry juicy grapefruit.
Lingering light sweet and dry bitter, very good and intense.
