jackadutton (65) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2015
Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Pours hazy golden yellow with 2-3 finger frothy white head. Aroma is quite mellow with passionfruit, orange, tinned apricots and some pine/woody notes. Taste is sweet of apricot and with bitter pine elements. Perfect carbonation too - just enough to move the beer around the mouth.

Always fresh as a daisy with a smooth, rounded sweetish malt. From the hops here I get pineapple and orange. Not overly strong in aroma as some other hops (mosaic, amarillo, citra) have been. Delicious.

Bottle from Red & White, Four Oaks. Hazy golden orange beer with medium head. Aroma of pineapple and mango. Taste is quite dry and astringent, mandarin rind, grapefruit and pine resin. A little oil in the body. Good stuff.

Very smooth citrus up front with a nice soft, balanced finish. All the IPAs by kernel seem to be great so I think it comes down to which hop profile you love. The mosaic IPA was a bit more floral doe me which I liked. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From tap. Unlear golden color with white head. Hoppy aroma, citrusy fruity, orange, light floral and grassy, light caramel malty. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones, Banbury, Oxon. Gold with white head. The usual Kernel treatment of an excellent hop type, a crisp, fresh malt delivering clean flavours from the hop, resinous, slightly oily then tropical fruits. Lovely stuff.

Saeglopur (2154) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - JUN 15, 2015
330 ml, bottled 25.03.15 at 7.1% ABV, from Ales by Mail.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of citrus, pineapple, mango, some berries, candy.
Tastes of grapefruit, pineapple, peach, mango, subtle pine, biscuit, honey, some candy.
Medium, creamy, velvety mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, medium bitter, piney, zesty, citric, also sweet malty.

Tasty! Clean, greatly balanced and very quaffable. The nose is a bit light, but the taste is a pleasant combination of juicy fruit notes and a very smooth malt backbone, with a perfect, smooth mouthfeel and finish. Another delicious IPA by The Kernel, but still not my favourite of them.

Many thanks to Gavin for the bottle. Pours an amber color, with a huge, bubbly head. Offers aromas of citrus topped papaya, together with cakey malts and a pleasant dankness. Underneath is a layer of ice bonbon infused grassiness detectable, which lets the juicy fruits blend flawlessly into the sweeter malt foundation of the beer. Has a medium carbonation and a soft mouthfeel, turning instantly dry during the beers finish, complimenting the hops well. Tastes of bready, dough malts with a hint of salted caramel to them, getting joined by ripe, sweet fruits, exhibiting red apple, tangerine and mango. This produces an surprisingly sweet melange, which then gets balanced by an incredibly bitter citrus hoppiness, introduced by the recognizable carbonation. Slick citrus pulp features a bitter, long lasting finish, swallowing almost the complete initial predominant malt sweetness. Convinces by its great, soft, clean mouthfeel and extreme versatility, including a great balance between sweet fruits and citrus bitterness.
