UPDATED: FEB 15, 2012 Bottle: Orange-tinged brown beer with a tan head. Massive aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, citrus-fruits. Taste is extremely well balanced - roasted malt sweetness leading to a dry, lingering bitter finish. Quite big bodied. Big flavored. Delicious. Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a hazy orangey brown with an off-white head. Nutty, roasty nose with quite some citrusy aroma hops. Medium body, roast, nuts, licorice and again pleasantly aromatic hops. Dry, hoppy finish. Nice indeed. 140212 harrisoni (19336) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2012
Bottle from the brewery drunk at home. Very dark brown near black colour thick rocky cream head. Now this I rather like. Hoppy brown malty aroma. Very full in mouth good carbonation good flavour good brown malts and well balanced but quite forward hops. Good choc flavour. Bit of mint on end from the hop mixes well with the choc flavour. 33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Looks almost exactly like cola. Very little head (maybe my bad pour). Pine resin and burnt coffee aroma. Thick, sweet, maple syrup sweetness. Herbal hops, not overly bitter, finishes with a long but moderate bittersweet mingling. Jacob23_5 (128) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 8, 2012
Bottle at home. Pours a coca-cola brown black colour, thin head. Slightly honeyed, coffee granuled nose, touch of caramel. Dry bitterness with a hop-drive, espresso coffee flavours. Reasonable fizziness. Quite unusual, very Kernel, very nice but the flavours could be fuller.
