50cl bottle, 5.4 abv. Pours slightly hazy deep golden colour with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops, fruity, grassy, mandarin. Taste of fresh mandarina hops, grassy, grapefruits, nice brew, very fresh!
Many thanks to thirstybird for this one! 5.4%. Extreme intense floral nose. The beer starts fresh with a great smooth floral hop body. Not too intense, but very sessionable on a light and mild body, that stays as usual in the background. The hops are fresh and refreshing with pine and resin, moderate bitterness, fantastic as usual. Big dense cardboardy murk, a fair old sludge of a pour and a thin white head. Nose is quite busy sherbert, dry grass and sweet citrus. Initial taste is papery sweetness and a decent glint of grapefruit, creamy sweetness later. Carbonation is almost non-existent but mouthfeel is gritty. Finishes fibrous and vibrant mango and sweeter tropical fruit with a nice smattering of minty citrus hopiness on the linger. Decent stuff but it looks and drinks like it was out of a juice carton, still exceptionally flavourful for the ABV.ElManana (2079) - Scheldewindeke, BELGIUM - OCT 1, 2016
Bottle bought at Beer-Gonzo. Shared at Fuck-Zwanze-tasting. Citrus, fruity and pretty bitter. I like it.

50cl bottle via Berr Gonzo. It pours a dark orange color with a minimal white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is tangy and citric with notes of oranges tangerine lemon peel and grass. Taste is also tangy and crispy, lightly bitter with notes of melon tangerine and oranges. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, quite nice Garrold (5512) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2016
Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. 5.4%. Hazy, dark orange. Kernel head. Nose has some earthy, stone fruit hop. Peach and apricot. Orange peel. Some ripe, summer berry. Taste is mellow, earthy bitter. Trace of malt sweetness. Light to medium body. Soft fizz. More of the earthiness on the finish. Ok, but lacking a bit of juiciness, given the hops used. Bottle from Bridgend Service Station, Freuchie. Pours with the usual deep haze. Lightish amber with a darker middle in the glass. White head that fades slowly. The usual awesome aroma. Lots of tropicality with balance. Syrupy pineapple. Guava. Oranges. Peaches. Some red berry notes too. Taste has a lovely juice-drink sweetness. Sweet brioche malts. Pithy bitterness comes through quickly. Doesn’t assert itself too harshly. Weirdly, there’s a metallic thing I can’t quite pin down. Thin but proportionate body and mouthfeel for a pale ale. Carbonation is restrained. The usual high standards from the Kernel.....I expect nothing less ThirstyBird (2992) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2016
Bottle, pours a hazy dull orange with an 0ff-white head. The smell is citrus, toasted malt, bit of earth. The taste is crisp citrus, a bit of tropical fruit then crisp and dry at the end - almost herbal. The body is light with fine, soft carbonation. 500ml bottle at home in Richmond as ’The Kernel Pale Ale Citra Galaxy Summit’, 5.4%, 5 weeks old. Hazy dirty orange, opaque, still, foamy off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is airy, pine, tangerine, pineapple. Body is light, tingly carbonation, quite smooth. Taste is sodawater, eathy, cardboard, pine, light mint. Very little to it for a Kernel offering. Good but falls short of The Kernel’s usual standards.
