Bottle at home after a hard days work, 06/04/13, from the brewery bottled 11/03/13.
Hazy pale golden with a thin off white head that dissipates to a film.
Nose is juicy tropical fruits, mango, orange pith, grapefruit, fresh hops, light pine.
Taste comprises bitter sweet grapefruit, orange sherbet, light mango, residual sugars, citrus, pale malts, hops, pine needles, mineral notes.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation pitched perfectly, hop bitterness in the finish.
Top draw - I can’t recall a better pale from the Kernel! Scopey (15475) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2013
Bottle at Kernel as "Pale Ale Citra Simcoe Ahtanum". It pours hazy gold with a medium white head. The nose is orange squash, sweet tangerine, orange chewits and playdough. The taste is pithy citrus, orange, tangerine, sherbet, earth, dough and pine with a dry, rather bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, bitter yet well balanced and massively drinkable. One of Kernel’s best APAs of late. evergreen0199 (3460) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2013
Bottle bought at Beer Boutique, Putney, London. A hazy golden coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Lovely hoppy, rich tropical fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, rich tropical fruit, orange and grapefruit, pine, slight bitterness. This was a lovely fresh APA that I could drink all evening. Really moreish. Excellent. zacgillbanks (5435) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a cloudy yellow-orange coloured beer with fresh juicy fruit and tropical fruit flavours, orange marmalade and biscuit notes on the creamy finish. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 31, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2013 Bottle from Craft Beer Co. Pours bright orange with a small, dense white head lasting for the duration. Nose is very punchy. Loads of orange, lemon, mango, apricot and passionfruit. Very tropical and fruit driven. Taste shows all the sweet, tropical driven fruits with a light creaminess to the palate. Quite a bit of apricot in the taste and almost sticky sweet. Works well with light bitterness on the finish. Good beer indeed

Hazy dense yellow body with an undense white head. Threads of pithy white grapefruit in the nose. Similar initial taste, light stings of hop and an odd minty vibe. Midrange of earthy, almost salty tang, softened by a crisp and big bodied juicy fruit finish - slightly watery edge at the linger. This would make a great ice lolly, was all I thought during it. Very refreshing purely from taste from start to finish with a fairly soft carbonation. Slurp.madmitch76 (25344) - , Essex, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2013

At the Cock Tavern brewpub. Keg. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy white head. Little skunk and mild minerals. A little grapefruit, tangy orange and a touch of lemon - lime. Light floral notes. A light creamy malt base. Lovely fresh APA.
(33 cl bottle from Utobeers @ Borough Market; Bottled on March 10th 2013; BBD: July 10th 2013) I’ve been meaning to brew my own Citra/Simcoe pale ale so I was eager to see how the pros have gone about it. This one pours a lively and slightly hazy golden with little, white head. Decent retention and lace. Aroma is fresh hops where both tropical fruit and sprucy notes are present in a well integrated combination. Oily texture, medium body and a slightly bitter finish Flavour largely follows the nose and has noticeable bitterness yet the end result is very drinkable and pleasant. ianwelby (1480) - SCOTLAND - APR 20, 2013
(Bottle.) Opaque straw-coloured beer. Grassy, grapefruit aroma. Mild, hoppy flavour that if anything could do with tasting a bit stronger. As you’d expect if you’ve had other citras, there’s a big citrus/grapefruit influence on the flavour along with the hops. Not the best I’ve had of this sort but very drinkable none the less.
