Alengrin (6007) - BELGIUM - MAR 1, 2017
From tap at Beerlover’s Bar in Antwerp during RBBWG. Frothy, thick, beaten-egg like, cobweb-lacing, stable head over a hazy yellow golden beer with slight greenish tinge. Aroma of lemon zest, white bread dough, green banana, lemongrass almost, passion fruit, camomile, something vaguely urine-like, dried orange peel. Fruity onset, vivid but clean with impressions of unripe banana, pear and a dash of pineapple, lots of soft gooseberry sweet-and-sourishness, smooth with minerally side notes, slick and bit soapy mouthfeel. Cereally, slightly bready malt core, continuing gooseberry effects connecting with an aromatically floral and grapefruity finish, resinous hop bitterness, long and drying; less ’juicy’ and malty ending than usual for an APA, this is closer to an IPA if you ask me. Still a great, quenching, aromatic and very high class Kernel, though - but I did not expect anything less from this internationally oriented, highly influential and highly acclaimed English craft brewer.

kraddel (9428) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2017
Tap at beerlovers. Pours rather clear blonde, small white head. Smell is creamy hops, bit malty. Very fresh. Taste is very rich in aroma. Bit sweet trough the hops. Very mild bitterness. Creamy. Very clean, like all kernels.full Fruity ending.

MelvinKalksma (1880) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 16, 2016

Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, bread, orange, tropical fruit, hops and citrus.

Turbid/opaque yellow/golden beer with medium yeast and with a slight/medium white head.

Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, hops and citrus.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Really amazing on all fronts, especially for its abv. Such a shame I did not have the pleasure to drink it extremely fresh, but I can only imagine what that would have done for this rating. What a great pale ale from The Kernel yet again.

rikstar (2605) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 5, 2016
0,33l fles gedeeld net bitsie b. Licht veel troebel en een witte kraag. Beetje soapy citrus met mango. Aardig maar niet spectaculair
