50cl bottle at the brewery. It pours a mostly clear golden colour with a small white head. Short lived foam. Aroma is bitter hops and grass. Taste is moderately bitter with grapefruit, grass and citrus. Light bodied with nice carbonation. Crispy and refreshing. Maybe a bit heavy on hops for an APA. jackl (8211) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 29, 2012
Bottle @ Home. The pour’s deep amber orange with a small head. The nose is floral hops, some spicy peppery grass and mild tropical fruit salad. Some citrus. The taste is light bitter dried grass, some piss. Quite acerbic, funky and floral. Decent yeastiness, chalky. Despite this, it’s a real pleasure to drink. Overall, nice work (as usual). madmitch76 (24980) - , Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2012

Very hazy amber beer, small off white head. Palate is light and crispy. Lovely fresh beer! Nice floral notes - typically Motueka. Well balanced with mildly bitter citrus and tangerine and grapefruit. A sweeter orange note before malt cream becomes noticeable. Finishes crispy with whispers of lemon and grapefruit. After a long journey back from the Olympics - this really hits the spot! Nice medium bitter aftertaste. A belter of a Pale Ale!

Light amber straw, soft haze, bubbly white head
Aroma - tropical fruity malts, sweet pale malts, mango, pineapple, soft fruit salad
Taste as aroma with that nice sweet backbone of Kernel malts. Really good flavour
Palate - medium carb and body. Finish as main flavour with a good bitter sweet fruity linger
Overall - Very good APA. This was 4.9% - a really flavourful pint and well balanced AshtonMcCobb (6669) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 22, 2012
50cl bottle. Pours golden and with a slight haze. There’s a nicely proportioned lacy head. The nose has strangely parma violets and lemon sherbet. The taste has more lemon sherbet, a bit of yoghurt yeastiness and then a lemon pith finish. The palate has a medium body, a tangy texture in the mid-section and a tangy dry finish. Overall, a good beer, which seems to be different between nose and palate.

Thanks kiwianer for sharing...my first beer from The Kernel.
Pours a hazy honey color with smallish off white head. Smells of tropical fruit, yeast, some bitterness. Taste is bright fruit, some tartness, citrus hops create lasting dryness and bitterness. Light body and nicely carbonated.

Appearance: Typical Kernel murkiness - deep orange body with a small, white head that gradually fades. Decent lacing.
Taste: Lychee and freshly cut grass. Caramel and slightly earthy. Dusty, dry bitter finish.
Palate: Medium to full body with a slippery, almost chewable mouthfeel. Very soft carbonation.
Overall: Once again, Kernel delivers another hoppy classic. Would love to know what the three ’CCC’ hops are...
500ml bottle, bits and all. Clouded orange with a fine slim foam. Fairly outrageous soapy aroma with florid tropical, pineapple, mango, Fruit Salad chew and guava notes. Big perfumed tropical hop with a dry bitter finish that sneaks up on you. Deep husk and grapefruit bitterness. Deeply soupy on the dregs but that’s Kernel. thepegjett (1260) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2012
Light caramel, citrus and melon. Light sweet and bitter with a smooth mouth feel. OK, but nothing great.
