Less pine resin than some of the other pales, plenty tropical, a middle mouth section of sweet malt biscuit and a lingering astringency. Standard kernel, i.e. very nice.

21st July 2013
Very hazy amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and semi dry, slightly soft. Fine minerally carbonation. Nice orange and grapefruit peel hops .Balanced by sweeter lime and floral things. Some pithy bitterness kicks in. Finishes semi dry with more citrus peel bitterness. Nice complex PA.

Kernel pales rarely match their IPAs. Meaty fences, better than their modern day flimsy counterparts.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko Tasting, thanks to Bruce, 08/07/13. Hazed orange amber with a thin off white head that clears to spotting and edgeing. Nose is pine, bitter orange, grass, dank hops, bready malts. Taste comprises juicy hops, light grapefruit, orange pith, good mineral bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the finish. Solid Kernel goodness.

I like smoke. I like meat. I like Jimi. But I like them in my house, not floating over from next door. I’m hot and grouchy. Kernel helping. Thank you. (I’d like to point out that meat is not physically floating over the fence from next door. You knew that? Good, carry on then. Pedants.)

Bottle. Hazy gold with an off white foam. Aromas are biscuit and pineapple with bready toast and floral notes. Low pine with gooseberry and hints of honey. Flavours are sweet mixed tropical fruit with woody pine notes and spices. Bitter grapefruit with oranges. Nice yeastiness with herbal aspects. Very good.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; Cloudy copper pour with thin white head, tropical fruit um bungo like, taste has orange grapefruit and backed up by quite a sweet malt backbone, impressive stuff once again.

Scopey (15431) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2013
Bottle at Kernel. It pours clear golden amber with a medium white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, earth, light toast, orange, tangerine and marmalade. The taste is earthy, pine, crisp, light toast, grapefruit, mango, tangerine, hay and bitter-sweet aspect with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, fruity and pretty delicious.
