Seriously amazing pale ale. Classic style yet new and innovative. Using the Motueka hop from NZ:
"New variety NZ Hop, this hop was bred by crossing a New Zealand breeding selection (2/3) with Saazer parentage (1/3). Primarily used for flavour and aroma its profile is citrus with lifted lemon and lime followed by a background of tropical fruit. Great in a Bohemian Pilsner."
This hop adds pineapple+lemon with a dry cloud forest finish. The beer a ittle cloudy but that just adds character to a sweet brew. The BV Crew rarely give out 18/20. This one deserves it. Leighton (22027) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2011
Bottle at a tasting, now with Nate and Paul. Pours clear, bright gold with a small, white head. Very clean nose, grass and pine, slight lime. Very well balanced flavor, light to medium sweet, some tropical fruits, bit more grass. Medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Semi-crisp finish, good balance, a bit of pine, some tropical citrus. Ultimate drinkability. Awesome beer. haywardj82 (6) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2012 does not count
Typical kernel brew, loads of aroma, nice bitterness. Tried it on keykeg, nice carbonation.

Hazy orange gold beer, small white head. Light semi crisp palate, just a tad dry. Smooth hops that are tasty and interesting. Subtle peach and melon. A modicum of Nelson Sauvin like ’filth’ but pretty mild. Mild elderflower and a trace of sour lemon. Grapefruit only shows at the end and brings some bitterness. Finishes semi dry with mild minerals and a mildy bitter aftertaste. Really hope the boys do a full IPA with this cracking hop!
Bottle from The kernel Brewery. Pours amber and thick cloudy, with a soft foamy white head that dissipates. Nose is really nice fruit. Mango, papaya and then subtle citrous fruit: orange and bit of grapefruit. Some urine and a bit of that rain on tarmac again. Taste is subtler than aroma. Soft tropical fruit, mild citrous tang and something else like that rain on tarmac thing. Minerally. Nicely balanced and a fine beer.

Here we have a deep orange copper as color, with a medium light white head. This is a really nice beer. Smell: hops and flowers. Taste : hops and spring sensation ( I mean it's fresh and refreshing) aftertaste : hops. pivoveskotsku (201) - SCOTLAND - SEP 11, 2012
On tap. Hazy golden amber colour, dissipating white head, massive tropical fruit aroma, taste is balanced, bitter, sweet, piney and delicious. Really quite fantastic. JorgeLee (2193) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2017
Bottle, brewery. Looks like every other Kernel pale ale. Lovely smooth beer with a pleasant but not overly sweet malt background supporting lots of hop bitterness with lemon, lime and a certain freshness. Insanely drinkable, really very nice. dantheman278 (1361) - SCOTLAND - AUG 31, 2011
Bottle at home. Bright, slightly hazy orange yellow with a small white head, fades to thin soapy film. Nose is pineapple, spruce, some bright citrus flavours too. Sweet pineapple and orange front with a real woody note and a dry grapefruit hop finish. Awesome beer. phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - SEP 25, 2011
Cask @ Borefts Beer Festival. Hazy yellow, not much head. Aroma is nice and hoppy, orange, sour fruits like citrus and pineapple, a hint of bubble gum, candy floss, a dank characteristic along with the slightly rural and hayish yeast that characterizes many of The Kernel’s beers. Taste is hoppy harmony, all the tropical marvelousness of the aroma, balanced bitterness and the Kernel’s yeast which I find very interesting. A lovely APA!
