UPDATED: JAN 8, 2011 Bottle at The Rake. Rich red gold with slight haze. Lasting cream coloured head. Lovely aoma. Love the Nelson Sauvin. Brilliant mouthfeel. Soft and perfect. Lovely and full in the mouth. Seductive and wonderful. That is a joy to drink. Such delicacy. Like being romanced in the most subtle yet devastating way. Bottle from Kris Wines, London, shared with Slothez prior to The Fall gig in Holmfirth. Poured a hazy golden colour with a nicely lingering whiteish head.
Cracking hoppage in all areas here, juicy fruit aplenty too. Bitterness spot on. Just so massively drinkable. A shit hot APA, these guys are really delivering some top notch stuff. Bravo!

Bottle at home in London. Pours fuzzy gold with a fine, foam head. Some ripe orange in the nose, bits of dry toasty bread. Medium sweet flavor, some lightly toasted sugar, lots of ripe, juicy citrus, orange and tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty sweet to finish, a bit of sweet bread, more ripe citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, orange. A bit sweeter than typical Kernel APAs, whic is kind of nice. Less dry, doo. Very nice. madmitch76 (25519) - , Essex, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2011

Cloudy amber beer. Residual white head. I think Evin said this was Nelson Sauvin, Pacific Gem and Motueka. Well I reckon it’s that chameleon like Nelson that provides a sweet blackcurrant nose, nice! Palate is light and a touch crisp but the carbonation is actually low. Light malt base, mild cream provides good support for delicious hops. Sweetish mild blackcurrant, with traces of orange and grape. Some mild minerals before the dry finish. Mildly bitter aftertaste. A joy of a beer. Would love to see Kernel go DIPA or IIPA with this!

Keg at the Rake. 5.8%. Cloudy amber beer, little white head. Smooth palate, mildly crisp. Tangy fruits. Floral tangerine, mild Nelson Sauvin like skunk. Very mild grapefruit and a whisper of lime. Dry finish. Really good stuff - please go DIPA with this.
Beautiful amber colour and long-lasting off white head. Delicious citrus/mango aroma. You can taste the fruit with good bitter overtones.
Excellent beer from this small brewer - bought from Bottle Shop in Canterbury.

Bottle from Selfridges Oxford Street.
Pours brown golden with a offwhite shortlasting head.
Very smooth and malty body UK style, but with "modern" hopping. BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 4, 2011
[500ml bottle, The Bottle Shop, Canterbury] Pours a hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and definite blackcurrant edge to it. All fruit on the palate, mango and more dark berry fruits, with a limey finish. Really drinkable, great bitter dry end to it after the fruity start. Another winner from Kernel (I just cut and paste that sentence these days) ladnewton (2032) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2012
On tap at BrewDog Camden on 8th July 2012. Gold with thin bubbly head and initial lace. Sweetish fruity aroma with a little cheese. Grapefruit hoppiness in-mouth, touches of orange zest. Rich hoppy finish with slight savoury notes which I found welcome. Light body and mouthfeel. jamestulloch (4327) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 9, 2012
Aroma: Beautiful pine, mango and kiwi notes with a sweet caramel aroma.
Appearance: Dense, caramel coloured body with a thick off-white head. Gorgeous lacing.
Taste: Very hoppy. Taste is more piney than fruity. Light saltiness. Lovely dry finish.
Palate: Medium body with a silky smooth mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.
Overall: One of the best pale ales I’ve tasted. This brewery rarely disappoints.
