Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Slightly hoppy with a gentle bitter finish. Pleasant but nothing more than average. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2012
Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Hazy amber pour with a big white head. Fragrant and floral hop and juicy citrus in the nose. Similar flavour with plenty of summer fruit alongside some sweet malts, Slightly unremarkable but typically highly drinkable offering from the Kernel. stravale (3078) - Co. Ornage amber, hazy...massive frothy white head, good lacing, over carbonated
Aroma - soft grapefruit, sweet soft juicy malt, hint of grassy hops, citrus hops.
Taste - Soft grapefruit citrus hops, juicy soft resin, more grassy hops than aroma, sweet juicy golden malts, good flavour
Palate - high carbonation, way too fizzy - had to leave it to settle down, medium body. Finish dry with a pithy soft grapefruit bitterness.
Overall - I would have like this even more if it wasn’t so fizzy - after calming down there’s that great refreshing Kernel flavour at a lower abv, I bought the bottle 2.5 months ago so it isn’t that old.
Bottle at home in London. Pours hazy orange-gold with a surprisingly large, foamy white head. Aroma holds some zesty and dusty citrus, some toast, light yeast. Light sweet flavor with modest bitterness, some dry lemon and orange rind, light grass, subtle wood. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Medium dry to finish with light sweetness, citrus with a bit more juiciness, dusty grass, lightly tangy lemon. A very good APA, but it doesn’t sing out like most of The Kernel APAs. Still, very highly drinkable. tommann (3801) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 12, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours a very hazy orange with a large head. Aroma is mango, passion fruit and bready malt. Taste is bitter mango to start. Grapefruit bitter finish. Very lively in the mouth.

Bottle at home. Murky yellow amber, thick creamy white head. Nice fruity nose - grapefruit, cordial, some grassy notes. Big grapefruit palate, nice minerality too. Lovely big bitter grapefruit linger. Nice. FaithHealer1 (358) - SCOTLAND - APR 8, 2012
Bottle at Dan’s. Pours a lovely hazy orange, with a finger of white head. Aroma is grapefruit, mandarin, a bit floral and grassy. Taste is grapefruity, lemony, a touch if breadiness on the very clean finish. Quite nice. madmitch76 (25009) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2012

Cloudy amber beer. Big fluffy white head. Light crisp palate. Minerals and mild sherbet. Dry malt with a little cream. Fresh tropical fruits and seltzer minerals. Mango and fizzy - bitter grapefruit - orange. Finishes semi dry. Very good as always from the mighty Kernel.
Bottle. Hazy yellow and orange with an off white foam. Aromas are lemon, pineapple and apricot with oak barrel. Floral and spicy with hints of honey. Traces of mint with oranges. Flavours are jammy apricot with orange marmalade. Grapefruit bittersweetness with dry, woody, herbal notes. Low spruce with a peppery finish. Very good. Cask at the London Drinker Festival. Colour is very cloudy orange, brighter than the bottled pale ales, foaming white head. Nose is orange barley water, lots of citrous, wheat grain, but also a bit of tropical fruit. Mango. Taste is citrus, but also that orange barley water again, traces of mango, maybe peach. Serving temperature was a bit warm but this was still very fine. Finish is bitter citrous, but it’s nicely balanced with the fruit sweetness.
