Bottle at home on a winters night in August, break from Black IPAs. 25th August 2012. Saison is not a favoured style of mine, but I like The Kernel. Pours clear and straw coloured, visible carbonation and a reasonable head, aroma is yeasty, flavour is refreshing and palate fairly fizzy for the Kernel, in line with the style. A good example, but I will not be having another

Bottle 330ml. @ [ Edinburgh Danish Invasion Tasting) by cgarvieuk - Edinburgh ].

Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, pale malt, light to light moderate hoppy, citrus, moderate yeasty. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, saison yeast, hoppy, peppery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120422]

Bottle from the Kernel Brewery. Gusher! It pours clear golden yellow, with a thick white head and some suspended particles. The nose is dough, spice, floral, tangerine, orange and banana. The taste is dough, spice, tangy orange, tangerine, grapefruit, herbal and grassy notes, with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Bottle at home - shared with Mette - Thanks to Tom. Clear golden - white head. Spicy, herbal, phenols, apple and pear yeast esters, light malty sweetness, light hoppy. Nice.

0.33 L bottle from the brewery. Cloudy yellow-golden body. Low blond top. Nice spicy and grassy nose with a fresh funky scent. Dryish, light sourish-sweet and spiced up malt flavor. Some fine fruity hop tones too, providing a crisp and clean mouthfeel. An interesting take on a Saison. Very moreish, very quenching.

From brewery. Colour is amber haze, white head. Nose is pungent yeasty, lemon citrous, banana, fruity, farmhousey and something a bit eggy, sulphurous. Taste is yeasty, citrus, fruity and a trace of that egginess again. Good though not perfect.

The best Saison yet from Sir Kernel. Balanced. Crisp. Tight. Like a young buck on the run through a spring field if virgin daisies. Yummy! -- raided in the wild, via Beer Buddy app
